Hi fellow orgers,

I'm seriously thinking of changing by B1H zx6 for a speed triple 07 plate, I'm testing one tomorrow (weather pending), I have ridden the street triple briefly and liked it, so anyones views on them would be helpful, any faults I should look for?

This is the bike I'm looking at £4696 8,101k from Triumph dealer.

Anyone got a speedtripple? ROFL ohhhhhh u crack me up.

Its practically a Triumph forum now a days isnt it?

If your after specifics, try Orose think he had/has one although that may be the street in which case ask AndyBrad who has the other one to Ollie.

Orose does have a speed triple so worth giving him a shout, Andy has a speed 4 so not that relevant, the full fat triples are a different beast to the semi skimmed smaller ones, both fun, but in different way, hope you enjoy the test ride, you'll have to report back on your findings.

Cheers Mark.

guy in the units got one and he says its the best bike he's ever had, recently spent a fortune powder coating bits on it.Can't remember what can he's got on it but its got a sweet raspy sound that you can hear for ages-real nice bike, and he was offered stupid money for it as a trade in against a newer model so they hold value well.

I asked Triumph about trade-in for my zx6 04 b1h 16k FSH and they affered £1850 :smt019

this is my current baby -

First thing I'd say is that itll be a completely different experience to riding the zx6. The full speed triple experience is much more relaxed than the street triple, as you don't need to rev it that hard to make decent progress. On the other hand, it can shift when you want it to...

I've got nearly 17000 on the clock now, but it still gives me a buzz to ride it. Bring on the good weather, so the sports tyres can go back on.

I got a speed triple in Aug 10. Had the shorty exhaust fitted when i bought it. Love the sound. It rides well. Prior to that was using a Busa and KTM sumo.

Tis a lovely bike, Mine was more or less identical to that one, I enjoyed mine while I had it but never quite clicked with it like I have with other bikes, could never put my finger on it reallly, But in the end I needed something less thirsty and more practical, so changed it.

If you get it, I've got some satin black blueflame cans I'd do you a good deal on :P

Was it the right choice?

Where I used to work was a trip on the Autobahn so the Busa was like a time machine, set of at 07:00 and get there at 06:55. Now i work in a different area and there is no Autobahn link. So yes for me the Speed was a good choice. The motor is amazing. lots of grunt. Little less weight on the wrists. Which was hurting on the Busa at lower town speeds. Cant comment on fuel economy yet as i havent been doing regular trips in this weather. Still got the Busa which may go shortly and thinking of the Tiger next.

We get these traded in against Harleys ever so often (god knows why?) lovely bikes, always a treat getting to ride one. Would love to own one beat, I prefer the Street Triple as it is less tempting to pick the front wheel up or end up far too fast even in 1st.
