I posted back in October that my GSD Dan had won an obedience competition arranged through the dog club that we attend. I said at the time that we had done it just for fun and we wouldn't be attempting any more. Well, one or two of you were kind enough to suggest that we should try again as Dan showed promise, young GruntyGiggles being one of the most constructive with advice, so we tried again last week. Dan took first places in the agility and obedience sections, so you were correct, thank you. Again it was done just for fun but the lady judge was a qualified, national level judge, so she wasn't cutting us any slack and we had to do things properly. And, once again, she asked us if we'd consider doing some national competitions with Dan but I can't see it at the moment. Until work picks up we can't be trekking around the country to compete, not with the fuel costs as they are. Here's a couple of pics of my boy flaunting his rosettes which, considering he's handicapped with an old berk with a glass back for a handler, he's quite entitled to look smug about.
