Bought a Stebel Nautilus to replace the lame sounding standard horn. Realised why it sounded so lame - horn bracket was not bolted onto the radiator bracket!!!:smt104

The threads on the bracket were clean as tho a bolt had never been thro' it and the horn has been sat on the radiator, paint scuffed on horn and damage has been done to the fins on the radiator. Took pictures to prove later.

Do you think i should get a warranty claim in to replace radiator?

not leaking now but might do in a couple of years time (love my SV might be a keeper for a few years).

I would be having strong words with the dealer they should have picked that up at the factory and when they checked the bike before releasing to you, makes you think what else did they not check.

I would be going for replace radiator, horn and anything else I can get off them like free service to cover the one they didnt do when they released the bike.

Definitely yes.
That is damage caused by either poor assembly or poor PDI......you don't shell out good money to buy a bike that may not have been checked/assembled properly!!

What else may have been missed!!!?!?!?!?!?!

Is it a new bike? where you buy it from?

And yes, try and get whatever you can from them...

Yes is a new bike 60 plate bought last august from KC Superbikes in Carlisle. Will be giving them a call today to get a new rad sorted under warranty. Here's hoping there good about it and not going to be tawt's. Were good when selling the bike but now we'll see how good their after sales are, and whether or not we buy another bike from them!

Its always a test of a dealership when you have a problem?

EDIT : Just spoke to dealer and want me to e-mail pictures thro', going to speak to Suzuki.

you do realise bolts can come loose and fall off ? and on a new bike the bolt hole will luck unused

i wouldn't surprise me if this is what the dealer says

(im just playing devils advocate) :)

I would hope that the dealer would have torqued they up correctly so they dont "fall off"

Sent these images to dealer. You can see damage on the rad and the clean surface on the bracket and paint still in the thread and scuffs to the horn. Just thought those who replied might like to see.

I take it the bike hasn't been back for its first service yet?
How many miles have you done on it?

Have to agree with you there.

No scuffing on the face does look a little iffy.

Done 2000 miles so far, went back for 1st service 3 weeks after got the bike. Easy to see how it was missed, i've washed the bike lots of times and been in with the acf50 etc and I never saw it resting on the radiator, will have to look tomorrow when i put the fairing lowers back on, but suspect you cant see the horn when they are on.

Have been told on the QT that this is not unknown problem with a dealer having expierenced 3 bikes with loose bolts or bracket off

PDI is not always carried out as you would hope.I had a new Sprinter that had a trackrod end jump off at 300 miles and do £3500 worth of damage.I got a new van from Mercedes but my wallet did the walking after that.
