I'm in the market for a new helmet cos I'm fed up with my cheap Nitro flip lid which lets in the rain a bit and also the noise. I'm looking to get a helmet which is light enough, doesn't fog and isn't too noisy with the wind. Not much then?!
The Nitro had a pinlock which was great and I'm a bit unsure of going to the K-4 helmet as they have a visor which says is anti-fog but have never used one before. Its really hard finding websites with comparable noise data to help you decide which is best :(
I have a budget of £200 so any advice welcome.

BTW, its impossible to search for AGV in the forum as it says the search word is too short.

Have you tried on either for fit, I think this should be the first thing you do before then looking at the other bells and whistles.

I personally would go Shoei because I like them, I have an XR-1100 and think it's great, no noise and well vented

edit: don't bother with search, you've already posted this thread in the "helmet" section of which there are 2 pages to look at...I haven't looked at the content but there are threads on shoei and agv stuff

I have/had a roof 010 and brought a k4 as the roof is not the best in winter. Mistake that was, as soon as I got on road with it hated it. Wished I'd never got it, noisy and does mist. Last week I treated myself to a xr1100 as the roof is getting old and worn out. Xr1100 is awesome and not much louder that the bigger roof + a pinlock :)
But it's all about the fit and what work for you.

In the end I bought a Shoei Raid II as the K4 had an antifog visor but I'm used to pinlock and the Raid had that. TBH, there's probably not much between them but wish there was some noise data from wind tunnels to allow us to compare them. If i had the money I'd probably have gotten the XR1100.The helmet is very light and quite quiet apart from a small whistle from somewhere. Not had the chance to muck about with it as I go to work and back during the week but not been able to get out at the weekend yet.

I've got the whistle as well in my xr1000, searched all over the helmet but couldn't locate it, must be inbuilt to remind you that you're on a bike with a helmet on. Earplugs help. :D

Hard to make a comparrison, as I've only tried the Shoei Raid 2. It's great.
Doesn't mist or whistle. I'm sure there are other helmets that reduce wind noise better, but I got mine for about £180 from Infinity and it feels like good value for money v quality..

Shoei's fit my bigfathead....AGV's don't, chin bar is too close.

I've got a raid 2, had for 5 years...great lids.

Bell M1 looks decent for the money £144 Sharp 5 star too. The Shoeiand AGV are both 4 stars

Good vid about the M1, MX5 and Daytona here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZVQLku4x4k
The guy reckons the forehead area is a bit tight when compared to an Arai or Shoei as they're Italian fit...still worth a try for the money I'd say, the Daytona is over 300 but comes with clear and dark visor and a good bag too...
