Hi Im wondering if you can use a carbed sv 650 rear wheel on an injection sv 650?
If not Im after a rear wheel for an injected sv 650 doesnt need to have tyre / disk or carrier.
thanks alot

Think you can, as there's a guy on Ebay who sells captive bearing kits & spacers so you can use a carby wheel in a pointy.

But I'm sure others will definitely confirm this?

Yer, i ran carby wheels on my pointy.

The rear wheel is the same bar the size of the disc. you could either change the disc or the caliper carrier to suit.

The front needs a spacer as the speedo drive isn't as wide on the pointy. Sorry but cant remember the size and don't have them anymore. You just need to space it so the discs are central in your calipers. Easy enough tho....

That guy stole those spacers and same guy that sells those nice caliper brackets that don't fit.
Rear wheels are interchangeable by swapping bearings and spacers. You use pointy spacers and bearings on curvy wheel and it is bolt on.

Speedo drive is same size, wheel itself is narrower at hub and needs spacers.

What do you mean 'stole' ??

Think if you spend hours to fit wheels on bike and make spacers. Than I buy spacers from you and drop them in machine shop to make copies. Than I sell them as my product.

as in sv racing parts (selling the part) not toot himself i think is whats ment

Do you know that for a fact? I understand your whine if so.......

Just it's not exactly complacated engineering to measure up and turn these things out. ;)

do you mean the inner tube spacer that goes between the bearings inside the wheel hub?

Yes, I do know for fact.
If it is not complicated than he could have done it himself. But to fit bunch of wheels and figure and make spacers still takes days of work. Instead of doing it he decided to buy all this different spacers and just make copies, why work if you don't have to.

Yes, to put curvy wheel on pointy you need to change all spacers including tube inside wheel and two wheel bearings. Sprocket carrier bearing is same and you don't need to change that one. You got left spacer, inner carrier spacer, wheel tube spacer, right side wheel spacer and two bearings (you need 6204 bearings).
Other way around, curvy on pointy can be done with just spacers. You use custom made captive spacers or you can just swap all spacers/bearings like above. You got choice on pointy to curvy.

Basically wheel without spacers and bearings is same on both gen sv's. Same with sprocket carrier, same part. And rotor diameter is different but they are interchangeable. Also gsxr rotors bolt on and some other suzuki's.

Those don't fit 650, they are same as earlier gsxr (01-03).

Yes that is annoying. but if you don't protect your design by law, then your open to let anyone copy it, no ?
