Hope the pics work.. they dont usually when i do it, Beowulf oval stubby Can for £110 with link pipes etc, Should have been £155 but it had a pin-pr!ck bubble in the paint so it was classed as a 'second', they seem a good set of guys up there, i went to the workshop where their made with a guy from work, seems if you go in person you pick up the bargain jobbys. And on the 4th picture does it matter if i accidentilly cut a bit off the mesh bit (presume its a cat?) only just caught it with the grinder.

Completely off topic by WTF is there a panda in your neighbours garden!?

Doesnt matter that you caught the cat at all. Infact if you havent sealed the exhaust go back and take the thing out :D

Ah, wondered how long it'd be before the panda was spotted.. hard to miss i suppose, its my brothers next door neighbour, they got a 3ft ish x 4ft ish panda and a 4ft ish x 4ft ish tortoise thing.. strange people.. better than gnomes i suppose.

And hows the cat come out mr reeder.. give it a bit of a pull but didnt move so thought id leave it.. presume it would still be ok come mot day with no cat?

Give it a really really hard pull I think is the way to do it :D
There's no emissions test on a bike MOT so it would be fine :)

you have to smash the cat out. word of warning: before attempting to do so remove the lambda sensor.

looking good though.

Eyup there Mr Bibio, is it worth removing the cat or will it make no difference to anything either way?

Cheers

depends. if you are the sort that likes to extract every last bhp then out it comes.

but if your happy just riding your bike then leave it in. very little to be gained taking it out.

its weight... and it reduces bhp id have it out.... but im one of them people that bibio speaks off above

Id leave the cat in, very little gain to take it out.

Get a tail tidy asap as well, it will improve the look of your bike no end.

Tail tidy is on the list, but might be worth getting crash bungs first, suppose crash bungs would have been more practical in a way than getting the can but i got a bit giddy. As for the cat, would it make it a bit noisier do ya think or would it be much of a muchness?

Cheers

I left mine in on my sv, my scorpion sounded ace with the baffle in or out :)

it would make it louder, just like sticking a decat pipe on a car makes them all sound like Ferrari's

As people have mentioned removing the cat, the thought of it was tickin round my head so thought id do it.. nothing to lose kinda thing, all seemed to go alright but theres a ring of metal that wont come out, all the honeycomb stuffs gone but it looks like this bit doesnt want to move, ive leathered it with hammers and screwdrivers and its well stuck in place, it doesnt appear to be welded in place etc.. does this seem normal? it looks a bit tidier than it does in this pic, but its just annoying that its there.

i just left mine in as it was to much trouble to get out.

looks like you have managed to push it further in which means it must be 'loose' or more lodged.

i'd be tempted to leave it and tidy up the edges with a dremmel.

or you could try and find a long piece of suitable steel rod put a small bend in one end then a larger one at the other and use as a puller but hinting it with a hammer (bit like a dent puller idea)

on a side note did you leave the lambda sensor in the same place as it is now while you were busy having fun with the hammer?

Lambda sensor was just kinda swinging where it is while the cat got abused, ive been on a decent run today though and it all seems alright so hopefully no harm done. i got a bit of something bent behind that steel collar and tried pulling but it wouldnt move, ive just cleaned it up and think ill leave it where it is for now. All seems well and is sounding pretty sweet though :).

Just be careful not to lose the front end whilst in the damp. I did and the lovely looking Beowulf got trashed, having been on the bike for approx three hours!!

I'd get the crash bungs next mate, then a black seat, then a black Fabbri screen, then powder coat the footpegs black, black pazzo levers and a K7 750 Gixer front end...with black forks.

;)

So would i be right in thinking your into black? And im thinkin that the red seat looks alright with black fairings, Gok Wan's always telling me red and black goes, just ask dennis the menace :D.
Crash bungs are on the list, but first a service and maybe some new pads (not checked them yet though) also planning on a tail tidy but its all in good time. Main thing is service so im set for summer.
