I would normally come along but not tomorrow.

Take care on the roads though, they are not as dry and grippy as you may think, especially ones over this way.
Me and col went out last week and they was either covered in mud or diesel :(

The roads everywhere are in quite a poor state, I came over the snake pass yesterday and the first half from Glossop is entirely cover in potholes an gravel, literally fallen apart.

Leicestershire roads are much better in comparison, I did a few of the roads we are doing last week.

Roads look clean and dry so I'm going out to play on the Daytona, but I won't be going at a 'good' pace, it'll only be the fourth time I've ridden the bike. I was thinking about A6 to Corby (via Geddington), Uppingham, Rutland Water Cafe, Melton Mowbray, buy a pork pie and reverse route home.

What route are you guys taking? I could amend mine to meet you at one of your coffee stops.

It's cold out but not painfully so, we are meeting in Melton at 10, heading down to market harborough then up to uppingham probably by about 10:45 to 11:00 then there's a nice loop back to Melton Mowbray via Bourne and cossington.

That 'Rain Today' radar forecast website was pretty accurate and shows you exactly what time and where to expect rain, it was bang on for today, but only does a couple of hours in advance unless you subscribe for £25 quid a year, which unless someone wants to go half with me and share the login details, there's no chance I'm paying that.

I left the Daytona in the garage and did this route http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=mawsley&daddr=52.34476,-0.74174+to:52.32078,-0.49235+to:B645+to:52.2364651,-0.2668242+to:52.2641,-0.22536+to:Perry+Rd%2FB661+to:52.27477,-0.34284+to:A14+to:A43&geocode=FQUhHwMdboTz_ymHvktNI3V3SDHaQ8QxJkrhtw%3BF bi3HgMdlK70_yk31COGOqB3SDHQeSC-qBwOEw%3BFQxaHgMdwnz4_yl3F-YJzb13SDGAakN3rBwOEw%3BFYAUHQMdqqX7_w%3BFbEQHQMduO 37_ynzztRtNcR3SDFhpb28qBwOEw%3BFaR8HQMdsI_8_ykfeKf 5kMR3SDFhMb28qBwOEw%3BFYjoHQMdihX8_w%3BFVKmHQMdyMT 6_ylVGP4uK8d3SDFAAiK-qBwOEw%3BFUzxHgMdjM_5_w%3BFRYTHwMddAb0_w&hl=en&mra=dme&mrsp=9&sz=11&via=1,2,4,5,7&sll=52.276141,-0.498505&sspn=0.341145,0.891953&ie=UTF8&ll=52.298402,-0.486145&spn=0.170487,0.445976&z=12 on the XT in the end because of the rain moving from west to east, so I ran away from it and got dry roads until St Neots with just the odd spot of rain, turned North, then back west towards Rutland Water and back home. About 5 minutes after turning West the rain came on heavy, so I'd basically outrun it on the outward journey by no more than 10 minutes. The road from Rushden to St Neots was fantastic! That's going to become one of my Sunday favourites, can't wait to do it in the dry on the Daytona!

Yeah I had a pretty **** day lol, rained from the minute I set off... On the way home I actually thought I might get severe hypothermia and die, I've never been so incapable through cold before.

All the forecasts said dry ALL week, even this morning they did. I don't understand how they can get it so epically wrong. If I did that bad at work people would die and I'd definitely loose my job!!!

Yeah the B645 is great.

We were washed out. Went all the way to Melton to meet G. As I got off the bike the rain started and didn't leave us. We had a short run to Uppingham where we stopped as it was so cold.
After an hour of drooling over bikes decided to call it a day as it showed no signs of letting up.
Gutted but at least I am back to watch the Rugby.

Me and the wife had our leathers on and everything just getting ready to go out the door and it fecking lashed it down, proper pee'd me off.
It hasnt stopped all day.
Three weather sources said last night it was gonna be sunny spells, no hint of heavy rain showers.
Looked at weather forecast this morning at 10am, heavy showers all day.
They couldnt have got it more wrong if they let me do it.
The same weather forecast said sunny spells all next week, we shall see.

Guys this is the UK, rains all the forkin time!.

I went out, headed across to Ross-on Wye, down towards Gloucester, hung a turn to run through the Forest of dean & then down to Monmounth.
Had a coffee there, then upto Hereford & back home to Worcester.
Out for 3 hours (including the coffee break) 100 miles and only got a bit wet the last 15 mins from home.

Think at this time of year the only hope is to go if its dry then hope for the best.
We went down to George Whites in Swindon yesterday, thought it was going to be OK then as well but caught a shower on the way back then too.

Just back the waterproofs and hope for the best.

Speedplay, yes same road, did it on my last bikesafe, but with a copper behind you you are not thinking about fun. Had some pretty decemt lean anglesgoing on considering that I was on semi-knobblies, stil plenty of room for error though, thats my quickest nowadays. Ducked out at Kimbolton on the way back and headed fo the A14 cos it was lashing it down by that point.

With regards folk moaning about the rain, ever noticed that the closer you get to the toilet, the more you are bursting to go? Its getting to that time of year when dry clean roads are just around the corner and everybody is impatient to get some more enjoyable rides again after a long winter. The promise of sunny skies, and dry roads, a bit cleaner after friday nights heavy rain, everyone looked out of the window this morning and got excited at the prospect, then come midday the rain was a big disappointment.

I knew the rain was coming from west to east, so when it started spots of rain, youve never seen me jump on a bike and head east with such urgency! ;-)
