View Full Version : Get Well Soon mad Tony 252! (the daft bugger!)
Well it turns out mad Tony 252 is a bit worse for wear.
The daft bugger went testing a new Formula 1 Sidecar outfit at Teesside autodrome on Friday and I wondered why I hadn't heard from him. He said he'd call and let me know how it went.
Now bearing in mind this is a world class outfit he was on and knowing how mad Mad Tony is... It ended in tears.
It actually ended with 9 broken ribs and two breaks to his right arm.
And despite his weetabix, that's definitely a major event.
Get well soon you nutter! The paddock will be a much quieter place without you this year! :(

Ya kn*b! what happened then?
No details yet. Just let me know as he left ICU! I'll give him a bell tomorrow... (and I bet he'll answer with his left hand!)
And Tony on Strong meds should be an interesting event!

Warm wishes for a speedy recovery. What the hell did you do?????
Apparently they 'highsided' it, not quite sure how you do that with a sidecar though:confused:

Micheal Kirup if my memory serves me correctly.
Had a bit of the old texty texty with Tony earlier. Anyone else you'd think they'd had a bash on the head, but with it being Tony he sounded his usual self. He's struggling to get a happy ending with his bed baths apparently!
Glad the mad f**ker is still with us and it wasn't a lot worse.
Still up for the side car racing with me then Chris ;)
Get well soon Tony you mad c**t

Mad Tony Update...
There's still a glimmer in his eye but he's not allowed to laugh (Sorry but thats impossible)
So, He's got 9 broken ribs, 6 on the left side and 3 on the right. He has snapped the ball of his arm in the socket and also split the ball in two so they've pinned it all together and he should be looking normal shaped in about 12 weeks!
The man is a trojan and is obviously ina lot of pain!.
They'd done 25 or so laps and were drifting the outfit everywhere with it spinning very controllable around the track. They weren't going daft but drifting around the left on the back straight and the rear wheel hit a dry patch and the outfit siddenly high sided. Tony was thrown off and Michael ended up under it and sliding with it on top.
The options, as no one actually saw it are
1) Th initial flip broke Tony's ribs and the impact broke his shoulder.
2) Tony was ran over by the outfit after it flipped
3) The Sidecar bounced and landed on him
Michael was stuck under the unit but was just lightly bruised.
Tony got the full blues and twos and the track ambulance didn't take him to hospital.
He's faring up well but obviously not his former self. Hoefully he'll be out of hospital and home in about a week or so.
Get well soon mate! :)

Daft sod should have know better.
I had a mate who used to race chairs on the island. He was bloody stupid but half northern Ireland which explained his stupidity.
Come on Tony when you are well enough, explain just where you left your brain when you got on that thing. They are just so unnatural. It was bound to end in tears.
Get well soon Tony, will def be missed at east fortune.
Hi All,
firstly must say i'm overwhelmed by all the cards, texts and messages i've had since last Friday!!!!
Thank You All!!!
Now i've just been to see Doctor Costa who says i'll be ready to race my new ZX10 in the East Fortune practice day in 2 weeks!!!!
Oops-sorry been mixing the Tramadol and OraMorph again!!!
In the real world-i'm hoping to make the NEMCRC meeting in April racing in the "walking wounded" class!
To put it mildly-the last 2 weeks have been bit a "bit of an experience"!!
I got home yesterday and am now making slow steady steps to recovery
I gave the consultant a good listening to last week and physically it's 12 weeks off the bike!!
So as for goals for the season go, it will be several months just trying to get fit, then hopefully a trackday or a meeting to see how i'm going.
We may have seen the last of me on an outfit, but there's still life in Bullseye yet!!!
lastly-there's nothing like a good crash to help put things into persective!
Those are my new words of wisdom!!!
Take care all, but dont worry too much....i'm sure there must be instances of stamp collectors choking to death after licking their newest purchase!!!!
TC 252 -going for the record of most bones broken before March in the season!!!
 didn't see this before, GWS Tony :thumright:
