a customer at work has got a er6 race bike and the rear wheel size is the same as the sv, does anyone know if the er 6 standerd wheel will fit into a curvy sv?

As Yc says anything is possible.
To do it it would be a custom axles and spacers and shimming or machining of the sroket carrier

How do you know? You measured them?

I haven't but i may ask me neighbour to lend his er6 for a few hours to see if its possible.

So why tell us it is not possible without big machining if you haven't measured? Maybe they drop right in...

Andrew, your a bl00dy terror for doing that mate! People come on the forum asking for advice, not guesswork! Post what you like, but if you don't actually know, say so in the post.

You don't need to shut up, just caveat your posts, something like

"I've never heard of anybody doing that, if it was a straight fit you'd find someone on the web who's done it before. I don't know, it could be a straight fit, but I suspect you'd need custom made axles and spacers."

Is there any advantage to fitting er6 wheels?

Are they lighter?

I get the aesthetic advantages, just seems a lot of mither for a set of wheels the same size, especially the rear. My bike has silver wheels, which I don't like, but maybe next winter I'm gonna deseam and powder coat them.

If you like ER650 wheel you may as well put 636 wheel that looks identical but is 5.5".

I was looking at that yesterday
Found a guy doing a faux ducatti gold about £50 wheel

Z, is there not clearance issues with a 5.5" rim?

I'm gonna deseam and powder coat them.

Not sure of the wisdom of that myself.

So that means you've changed your mind?

No, we are already using 5.5 wheel from gsxr. ER guys are using 636 wheel. It would need little machining on sprocket carrier and spacers but it can be fitted.

Not changed my mind per se but it's not something I'd recommend for a normal bike, like fitting mag or carbon wheels it's something that would seem a good idea at the time until you hit the first pothole.
