I've been pleased with my Raid II but it's due for replacement. I'm a size 62 that's an XL. What other lids are Shoei shapped inside. Goes without saying I'll be trying them on but I want a short list.

Don't mind another Shoei but might like something different this time. Looking at a Shark RSR2 carbon.

Lids of the same make may have different shape depending on range. See here http://www.araisuperstore.com/Arai-Interiors_ASZV5.aspx so worth trying them all!
shark RR2 is more of a long oval (I wear a medium arai gt) and tried a medium but it wont even pass my skull!
Oh, you can always swap the cheek pads up/down size for perfect fit!

I have a big head, loved my Raid 2, tried some other lids, bought and sold an HJC, finally settled and very happy with my XR1100 - it's kind of like a posh Raid2 - fits the same, better vents, pinlock visor. A bit steep, but very nice lid.

I'm tempted by the Qwest, supposed to be the Raid 2's direct replacement.

I'm tempted by the Qwest, supposed to be the Raid 2's direct replacement.

The qwest is comfy, but feels a bit flimsy compared to the raid. In particular the visor mechanism is not as robust. Vents are an improvement. It seems to be better suited to an upright bike not one with clip ons as im forever pushing the chin up to get it to sit further back on my head! Was well impressed a few months ago, but it has slipped a little down my list, keep thinking about pressing the old raid back into service. 7/10 imo

I just replaced my XR1000 for a Shoei Qwest.

One word = Amazing. Best lid I have ever owned. I got it from lidsdirect and got 15% off and loads of extras too.
