i have been looking at purchasing a K5 / K6 SV650s for a while now and have spotted a few i like. Some are fully faired and some are half faired. The only thing is is that the fully faired models seem to be a lot more expensive than the half faired ones.

if i was to buy a half faired one, which are a lot cheaper, is it easy to get ny hands OEM fairings?! oneidasuzuki is a place iv heard about. anyone dealt with them? also if i bought a K5 SV, which is now 6 or so years old, and bought colour matched new OEM fairings, would the colour be a good match or would there have been any faiding on the bike and subsequently a colour difference between the two?

Check the price of the lower fairings and the fitting kit; the full faired bikes will probably seem like good value after that!

Hi Irish Ek. Mine was half faired with belly pan when I bought her. I searched on ebay and got a second hand set for £70. Paid someone about £30 to spray them. The only problem I had was the fitting kit. Now this is the BEWARE bit. A full kit from Suzuki costs £120 +vat. The bloke I got mine from sent most of the kit but I was still missing the centre nuts and bolts. Luckily this is where the crash bungs fit, and I was going to get a set to fit so I bought an R&G set which comes with a really good bracket and fitted them intead, negating the need for the missing bolts.

Hope this helps. Scarey
