I've just spent half an hour trying to remove the visors off my helmets and was starting to get a bit wound up so decided to have a look for a demo on youtube, i found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YTHFTwwark

...now I'm REALLY f*cked off off because it looks simple and I still can't get them off!!!!!

I know your pain... I snapped off sidepods on my first Arai. I can swap the visor out instantly now.

Lift the visor all the way up, then face the helmet away from you and put your fingers under the two little grey levers that appear from the sidepods. Lift both up until you hear a 'click' from both sides, then slide the visor out with upwards movement.

Then enjoy the more difficult task of getting the visor back on :)

Haven't all Arai owners been here :)
I can do mine easily now but it's a bit scary to start with.
Just follow the video and you'll be fine :)

Was gonna say its the easy part getting the visor out.

Putting back in that will make you sweat.

The simple solution is buy a AGV :0

My Shark has a damn good system, can change visors without taking my helmet off. No mirrors either.

What was that, trying to fit dark visor to avoid the evening glare only to find it dark by the time you finished?

LoL, actually it was to fit an antifog insert which will come in handy cos there's so much sweat pumping out of me even the windows have steamed up ;)

can swap my arai visor with the lid still on my head. They do get easier with age. My new quantum is stiffer than my old RX7. It is a PITA to be honest, but the visors do work extremely well when fitted, so i'll forgive them.

I had the same problem with my Arai, when it was new the pinlock wasn't fitted so I had to take the visor to fit it. Took over an hour to put it back on, can change the visor in less than a minute now.

You have to use quite a lot of force and on a brand new £300+ helmet that's damn scary.

It's a much better system than my old X-Lite, that was easy to do but also very easy to break the visor, which i did twice.
