Morning all,
Went out green laning yesterday and finally got the bottle to cross this river, i started to cross with no problems as i could see the bottom, feeling good, having flash backs to the long way round, then the water is over the saddle, engine stalls and i'm up to my waist in cold water. Managed to push it out, dried out the spark plug and rung the water out of the foam air filter, pushed the button and it started. I LOVE THIS BIKE. First picture is the bike drying and the second is the river crossing, i fully recommend this greening laning lark.

Cool, I do a spot of it myself :)

First time I rode through some water, it was a ford type thingy about a foot deep I guess, 30 yards long ish, watched ralph go through, so a bit nervous, what did I do? I gunned it, ralph said the the bow wave was above my lid :)

He was pi55ing himself laughing for 5 mins :)

Lol, you need a snorkel fitting ;) could you not have hit that large rock and jumped it without getting your feet wet?

I went through one similar to that last Friday and have to admit to taking a wide ark across keeping it in water less than about 18 inches, the water was about 2 feet if you were to go straight across, so I chickened out and took the path of least resistance. I'm not worried about getting me and the bike soaked, I'm worried about my mobile phone and my sat nav getting soaked.

This is the ford in flood

Nice one Bikerskez, is that Plymbridge woods by any chance? If it is, that could well be the same ford that I used to play in on my mountain bike. Used to love riding it up there. ;-)
