Ok, im not thinking seriously about selling the bike but it has crossed my mind .... due to the need of something with 4 wheels (cant carry a tool box particularly well on a bike and will need to do so soon)
so this is the lo down on my bike
Its a 2003 k3 sv650n silver
24600 miles on the clock (ruff figure)
has service history up untill 17k when i brought the bike, but has been service regularly so have noted this in the service book..
it has had new piston rings and gaskets about 2000 miles ago and new piston (forged) also had the cylinders honed as the pistons are tiny bit bigger (not bored out)
the bike is far from standard and has quite an impressive mod list:
body:
seat cowl
ermax undertray
integrated rear indicators
carbon look mini indicators
carbon fender
light's:
MT-03 headlight
Custom made brackets
smoked rear light
HID front light kit
controls/electrics:
Renthal Bars and pad/brace
harris grips
R6 throttle tube
GB moto rear sets
Trail tech vapor
vapor Dash
custom made clock mount (designed by me and laser cut)
custom made risers
drilled yoke
black shorty leavers
Suspension:
Showa fully adjustable forks
gsxr 1000 k3/4 rear shock
25mm jack up plates
Engine/performance/drive:
Hayabusa pistons (forged and lighter)
velocity stacks
higher compression (thiner gasket)
slip on ART can
billet tank risers
High lift cams
pipercross air filter
14t renthal front sprocket
45t super sprox rear
tusubaki alpha gold chain 525
Brakes:
brembo 4 pot gold line calipers
ABE 320mm disks
hel black 2 line set up
brembo master cylinder
titanium pad slides
cobra rear braided line
goldfren HH pads all round
Other bits:
Triumph t595 wheel
custom made front axle
custom axle nut (designed by me)
pro-bolt bolts
black chain adjusters
black swing arm caps
carbon tax disc holder
bewolf radiator grills
metal chain guard
Bar end mirrors
R&G crash bungs (k5+ version)
goodbits:
most of the mods...
the bike had a new rear tyre about 3k ago and the front has 7k on it so will need changing soon
the chain and sprockets have about 3k on them so are like new
air filter has 0 miles on it EG not even fitted yet
new pistons and piston rings, oil and oil filter
higher compression ration
about 5bhp over stock maybe more..
Ohh and has new exhaust gaskets all round
and the swing arm has been shimmed so theres no excessive play (like that from new)
The bad bits...
.paint is cr&p on the tank
.the front disk's are slightly warped i think but not sure
.could do with lock stops (not an MOT fail as bars do not come close to tank
.some marks on forks tops
.wheels could do with been repainted/sprayed
.wiring could do with a tidy up, all works bar the fuel light (not that important just go off the trip computer.
.the bike has been down the road
.some marks as one would expect for a 8 year old bike

I would have said around £2k, its worth what someone is willing to pay at the end of the day. you may get more money selling off some of the parts seperately if you have the bits to put it back to standard, i.e. the complete front end I would imagine has got to be worth at least £500

1600-1800 mate -your bike is very individual, you'd be better to strip as many of the add ons off and sell them , put her back to as close to standard as you can.
It will be worth considerably more to you than anyone else because of the time, effort and money you have spent on it :( sadly modification rarely add any true value.
I struggled to sell my 2006 600RR for £3k
Trike it!!!! :smt112
You get to keep the bike and carry your tools. :D

thanks for the comments, yeh though 2k might be optimistic
and yeh i know mods are very individual, to be honest i think it would make a better track bike than a road bike, all it needs are some fairings, sticky tires, super unleaded and its sort of ready to go
and Tam im not having a trike ..... i may well be fat, hairy, have a beard, bad breath but i will never ever own a trike :D
EDIT just stripped callipers and its amazing how smooth the pistons move even after sh*t loads of winter riding got to love brembo with there Teflon coated stuf :D

i did think about parting it out,
the front end is worth a few £££ especially if i was to sell with the brembos and master cylinder the brakes are going for well over £100 and thats just the callipers no pads or any thing else
its just the time and effort factor that puts me off parting it out

Can I be honest?
As soon as anyone sees it, they will only asssume its been crashed. A lot of folk prefer to see an unmolested bike, with a few 'add-ons' that can be easily removed, due to the fact its less likely to have been battered down the road.
'Street fighter' don't call it that whatever you do!
Probably about 1500 quid, no matter what hard work and expensive bits are put on it. Dave went for 1200, which was a reasonable deal for a bike that hasn't had the front end removed up the rear of a Saab:rolleyes: and the new owner bought it because a: it was a good price b: it was in very good 'honest' condition for its age and mileage c: probably because its not been molested with 'Modifications'

least your being honest with yourself re the price mate-plenty of curvys coming up with peeps looking for what its worth to them not the actual selling price-anyone whp pays over 1400 for a curvy now is mad, 03 pointys i wouldn't pay over 1800 for one.got a mate with an 03 with under 1600 miles on it looking to sell, he was after 3500 but said he'd take 3000 at a push-told him he'll be doing well to get 2000.

yup, just because its got low miles dosn't mean it should sell for ££££ more than one with a few thousand more.
theres lots of things im thinking at the moment, like keeping it one the road through the summer then SORN it in the winter and maybe for all of next year at least i wont be spending out on consumables
and just run my car (when i get it) the idea was to get rid of the bike to get a better car that would be more "like" a bike eg more power full and sort the suspension so on so forth but when i looked in to it the money i would get from the bike wouldn't even cover the insurance as id want fully comp if it was my only transport
and just so you know the figures im working with...
i could possibly get £1800 for the bike the insurance on the bike is £450 fully comp INC the mods
my car (saxo vtr) is £900 insurance is £2100 but im going half with the GF (apart from ipay more insurance) so i have to spend out £450+£1150
so techncaly selling the bike would free up 1.8k that would cover the car and ins for a year might get £200 back from this years insurance as its go another 7months on the bike so would have some cash to spend on stuf like cam belt, tyres ECT
pfft sucks been young
You think it gets better with age?
My Van insurance doubled this year for absolutely no reason other they can.
PS, Sell me your engine on the QT! Don't let those other minitwinners out there know. It has to be top secret!
C
Scratch that! I've just won a big bore kit on ebay. But Shhhhhh! don't tell anyone!
someone will be racing an 800cc sv this year then ;)

They/he wouldn't be the first.
Why insure a £900 car fully comp for £2100? How much is TPFT?

mate it may be worth you doing a swap more than a sale, say swaping it for a unmolested bike and a few quid, cos the unmolested one will sell quicker, and im sure someone will want your modded bike to keep for a while, also you say it been down the road a few times is it a cat c or d cos thats going to chunk the cash off
just an idea

Why sell it when you know that as soon as it is gone you are going to miss it? If you really cannot afford to keep it on the road, then find a nice dry, quiet part of the garage and put her there. Then when you can afford to, your bike is ready to roll out again.
Wow! £2100 TPFT for a £900 car?!
That's ****ing stupid.
Try my best quote...
£600 car, third party ONLY, 1.0L...
£2400
That was the best quote I could find anywhere... Think I will stick to the bike... :smt016

Aye but there's a good reason for that sally-They know your a sheep shagger and that you will be driving on roads surrounded by flocks of your favourite victims, come spring when you see all those wee lambs jumping up and down , shaking their tails at you , you know you won't be able to hold back and you'll drive straight off the road , through the ditch and end up getting stuck in a field just cause you fancy your nat king-the insurance guys are no stupid;)

I would not buy someone else's modified bike.
It's a complete effing nightmare sorting through all the bodges, random spacers, parts that aren't stock and the replacement part numbers been lost to the mists of time, dodgy bodgerama'd wiring etc.
Things you have against you for this bike
Front end, the crash makes the frame suspect which will put people off
The other big thing is the clocks. I've never seen an acewell installed properly, they've all been various grades landing somewhere in between "ball-ache", "nightmare" and "clusterf***".
Anybody who knows owt has inevitably been lumbered trying to decode "a mates" "tastefully modified" piece of sh*t bandit loom with extra butchering, done all in red, with chockblocks and will know to expect this.
You can't adjust the TPS, which is important, and I bet you haven't allowed for a stock set to be put back on to do it either...
(I hate aftermarket clocks, can you tell? :-P)
A quick search of your posts on here will turn up that you do stuff when you can afford it, which doesn't give much confidence to people!
Part it out, IMO.

bikes not a cat c d or any thing like that
Chris you can do the TPS (well a dealer can)
and most of the time i can't afford it but mum n dad can so if i need something then i ask, so every thing does get done properly but like to save when and where i can but not if it needs doing

Sounds an awful lot like my SV. Good job is was only ever going to be thrashed around a track. :)

There is a good reason we chucked entire loom in bin and built a new one
