its an old chap who does the run, its cheaper for you if you let them decide collection date as they tie it in with other collections/delivery on route-i'll be using them again mate thats how highly i recommend them
h.
I've messaged him so I'll wait and see. Thanks again Husky m8y

You tell them what , where and when , then loads of people with delivery businesses will bid for your contract , easy peasy :)
Thats spooky, I was actually on that site when your post came through
I have just been offered the job done for £113 from colchestercouriers.
I'll hang on for a couple of replies but that looks pretty good to me.

I had a guitar brought to me , one that I wouldn`t trust Royal Fail with . I had quotes of £60 etc and I hung on a bit longer until some guy came in with one for £20 as he was picking up in this area , £5 more expensive than Royal Mail but he knew what was in the case and treated it with utmost care so I was happy with that :)
so i have always wondered about getting a bike couried to another part of country. i assume they are covered by insurance for any damage they cause?

Dave I honestly did consider hiring a van and coming down myself and poping in to meet you mate-but i'm teetotal now and had a feeling that you'd lead me back to the demon juice:reaper:, i'd wake up three days later with a sore head and a bill for van hire worth more than the bike:p

Yeh, course i can, thats why im looking for a courier!! lol i was just looking for a more expensive and much less fun way of moving around my bike without actually riding it! (maybe i could sit on it in the back of the couriers van and pretend though) !!
No, ive not passed my test yet
Sarcy bugger!! lol. People get stuff couriered for all sort of reasons.

Don't you know anyone that can ride it over for you? That would probally be the best option.

When I got my SV i bought it from a guy in stafford and looked at all the options to get it up to Scotlland, van hire, ride it, etc
in the end i used a specialist company that only deals in moving motorbikes around the country. the van they had was specifically for bikes and they picked mine up on thursday morning at stafford and delivered it to me in scotland on the friday evening. it cost me £186 which worked out a lot cheaper than hiring a van or getting a train down then riding back up the road.
they were fully insured and very professional, but i cannot access my home email from work to get their details!!

There is a fun weekend for all to be had here , Imagine a fellow SV rider buys a bike in your area . The deal is this , they collect the bike for you (insured) and ride it to the new onwers destination of choice , you buy the rider some beer that night on the best night around your town and return them home the next day on the train :)
