Been a load of threads about damage and the like due to the ridiculous state of our roads, it taking months to get potholes fixed.
So, imagine the pothole was like this...

In just 6 days this was fixed.

And thats less than a week (http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/24/japanese-repair-quake-ravaged-road-in-just-six-days/) after a natural disaster...
they should give the lot doing the m25 north a kick up the backside..I think its been work in progress for the best part of a year and a half. The again they dont have elf and safe'dee' to contend with.
I also think the Japanese drink less tea which also helps ;)

Some of the craters on my local roads are getting very deep.
Councils are still biding their time, in case there's another snow before the end of May...

Puts our council to shame. They have potholes round here that you can lose a Landrover in! No wonder they're so popular, you'd never get a small car back out again, or a bike for that matter!
how can you compare? a pothole doesnt make the road undrivable, the road shown in the pic is. work has to start somewhere who's to know that road happened to be the first to be repaired?
chalk and cheese if you ask me

You can't compare, but to get a road completely unpassable back up and running in such a short time, when all around you is in chaos is damn good going. So why does it take weeks of red tape and 'ooo it'll have to wait til the new tax year now' before our roads even get looked at.
Calderdale and Kirklees are terrible. Our potholes get covered up with the cheapest pikey tarmac then patted on the top with a shovel, that wouldn't even flatten a molehill:rolleyes:

One of our bikers came in the other day complaining of sore man-plums due to the number of pot holes!
We pointed out that as an advanced biker, he should avoid the pot holes...
Doh!
Pete ;)

That first pic isn't far off Westgate Street in Cardiff, what gets me is you have roads falling apart and complete plonkers who don't care about their cars still driving full pelt across them.
