I recently had a converstaion with a friend of mine that left me a little worried. Very rough details were that a local garage werent investigating suggestions/allegations that a mechanic was tampering with other mechanics work

(the friend is first hand involved so this isnt loose hear say)

This left me in a bit of an odd situation as both my company and myself use the garage for company cars

After a long think, I decided that as the management of said garage arent taking these allegations seriously (has been going on over a period of months and it has been raised with line managers many times), to phone the local Trading standards and log a complaint

Bit scary, as i dont wont to get anyone in trouble but I also wouldnt like anything to be missed on a car due to someone tampering with someone elses work

Scary tho :(

Opinons?

Have you any evidence (physical) of the tampering? You would need that to proceed with any complaint. If you can offer some proof then if i were you i would contact the garage management directly and ask them what they have done regarding the proof you have put before them. Also, if there have been no complaints made about any work, how would they react? If your source works there and has to be revealed that could be complicated for them. If no real proof or evidence, take your fleet elsewhere.

Lend 'em a couple of webcams and do a spot of recording for them?

Tell your senior mgr & let him deal at the same level with the garage. That way it will have more credibility with the garage, and be way above your mate's level so there's no link to him.
