Dont knock it. In London we charge £30 a day to be driven round on busses like that under the guise of Sightseeing tours.

I wonder what nationality they was ? They probably not used to low bridges or something.

To be fair to the driver, as the routes are planned and vehicles allocated to each route depending on their needs,
Whoever told them to take that vehicle out is the one that needs sacking.
Could have been a new driver and not sure of the route etc.
I know the companies are recruiting all the time and new drivers are only given minimal if any time to route learn.
They should still be aware of the size of vehicle though as it's on a tag inside the drivers cab and the bridge restrictions are posted on the bridge.

A school bus driver did this in chesterfield only a couple of weeks ago!

We had the same thing happen a few years ago in Newton Heath.

The classic line from the bus driver was

"I only drive single deckers, I don't know what went wrong"

I thought I couldn't laugh any more until one of the cops - nickname of Trigger (as in Only Fools and Horses), walked up to the roof of the bus in the middle of the road and tried to pick it up! He was amazed he couldn't move it!

Cue Cops falling down, unable to breath for laughing...
