I have 2 broken bones in my left ankle & thanks to the National Health Service I am now the proud owner of a piece of metal & some screws.

I have no x-ray pictures (yet.....) of my new meccanno set but will endeavour to get some.

As we were both in together for about a week I got talking to him, he seemed a decent bloke but was funny with it - just like the guy in the advert :D

A few folk have asked how it happened, I can't say too much as it's still part of an ongoing investigation.

I've never hidden from the mighty org that I am :plod::plod::plod:

What started out as extremely routine went down hill quite quickly, result being that I decided to arrest someone for a low level public order offence. That initially went okay as well but he then decided to kick off so I decided to take him to the ground, we both struggled for a minute before a colleague ran over to help & as we toook him down he pushed me, I fell forward & as my colleague took him dowm he fell on the back of my legs. At this time we were stood on the road (just) but I had been pushed onto the pavement with my left foot still on the road.

I'm sure you're all intelligent enough to realise that a foot still on the road, a body on the pavement , a fully grown man falling on the back of the legs (and throw in a kerb stone for good measure!!!!!), and the end result is what you see above.:(:(:(

On the plus side, unlike most that post pics like that on here, you wont be putting up a "parts wanted" list to get your bike fixed.

Is this how bad it's got when coppers are giving themselves accidents with stairs instead of the crims? They REALLY need to train them better.

..............and some!!!!!

New cast doesn't come off until 17th May, even then I'll still be off for about 2 or 3 weeks before going back on light duties.

Unfortunately it does mate.................

I can't ride at all due to having a plaster cast from just below the knee to my toes.

Even when it does come off I've been told that I'll have very little movement in my ankle due to it being in plaster for so long, and I can already see my left leg muscles just wasting away, so it'll still be into June before I can realistically get the bike out.:(:(:(
