I've been spending alot of money on the SV recently and also used it as an excuse to play about in Sony Vegas. So I did a series of videos of the standard stuff on the SV then did the same thing again but this time with the new bits. I gave the reviewing my best shot but I'm by no means good at it compaired to Bluepete's home brewing video. So I apoligise in advance for my dodgy East Anglian voice. :D

The list of work I've have done on the bike so far is a new 2nd hand clutch, Hagon front spring and oil, Beowulf exhaust and a Nitron Track shock.

Video 1: This first video is a before and after of the exhaust. In it I do a series of runs for a sound comparison. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNsFBTebgWw

Video 2: I then did an unboxing review of the Nitron Track shock. This was meant to go into the next video but it worked out too long so I made it it's own video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q00BJfXVQMA

Video 3: The final video is a before and after of the standard shock vs the Nitron shock. Plus there's a little segment about the Hagon springs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq9QTwUqiq8

I haven't embedded the videos here because they will look much better on Youtube in 720p.

I also took a few dodgy pics on my mobile telephone while I was at Spanner Man's place. A massive thanks to Spanner Man for doing the work. It was 80 miles each way for me but it was well worth it for the care he took with the bike. Plus the rear shock wasn't the easiest to fit. Plus him and Russ who were helping out are a proper good laugh. :D

My SV is leg-less.

The 30,000 mile fork left to drain. The oil was very grey and runny and smelt awful!

The 30,000 mile standard springs.

Legs re-sprung, re-oiled and semi re-attached.

Spanner Man's stand that doesn't look anything like a giant version of a Abba Stand. :^o

Dogbones removed and shock unbolted.

One mankey SV shock.

Slight modification to the toolbox so that the reservoir will fit in.

The new shock in place.

The bike sitting pretty once again.

Out with the old exhaust and I know people say they are heavy but wow! It was a bit heavier then what I was expecting.

Out of the however many thousand views it's had 89% have been males. 32% of them males have been between the ages of 45-54. The dirty old so and so's. ;)

Cheers Specialone and it works as well as it looks from a amateur point of view.

Trust me you won't be disappointed with it. The camera doesn't really do it justice and the wind noise doesn't help things. It really has got a lovely sound to it.

After 30k what were your linkage bearings like :-P

How long does the nitron arrive? What you reckon to it?

If the linkage bearings are in between the swingarm and the frame then I have no idea. It was all done with the swingarm attached to the bike.

It took 4 weeks to arrive but there was a delay because they had to send the spring back to get it powder coated again. Coming from someone that's only used to a SV with stock suspension then it's a night and day change. Before the back end used to wallow about in bends but now it just sticks to the line you take.
Also coming back from Stewarts it rides smoother on the motorway because it soaks up more of the smaller bumps. The stock one used to transmit them through the bike.

If we ever end up in the same area I'll let you have a spin to see what you think. Mind you it's a pointy so it's automatically better. ;)

Why were you fiddlin with the clutch?
I thought you'd ditched the standard can ageeeeeees ago!

The springs in the clutch basket had developed some play over time. So every time I feathered the throttle there was a bit of delay where the slack in the springs was taken up. The clutch apart from that is still perfectly fine but it started to really bug me.

As for the can I really wanted to ditch it (almost literary did a couple of time too) but a bill or something would take the bike money away.

They all speak funny up there and say things like "Can ah av eur brew". ;)

Ah right  . I couldn't honestly tell you how long it was in the box but on the bike from top to bottom it's 13 and a half inches.
