The wife and I have just adopted two 6 week old kittens but have yet to come up with suitable names for them.
Both are female and solid black in colour. One is adventurous the other is shy. The shy one has 6 claws on each foot.
Both are sweet and quite well behaved for their age.
Any name suggestions?

Number 1 and number 2, is what an unimaginative mate of mine went for :), which is a poor effort I will admit.
Who are you two favourite motorcycle racers?

I've been away and thought about it and ...
Gin and tonic
Or as they are both female - trouble and strife
That's about as creative as I get, or midnight and shadow

I asked a similar question recently for my two adopted cats. I still haven't named them but they probably think their names are "Stop That" and "Sod Off".
How about Nefertari and Nefertiti, the Egyptian queens since cats were worchipped by the Egyptians. Or Bast and Sekhmet who were the cat gods of Ancient Egypt.

Not sure if anyone has suggested this one yet or if they already have names now, but Bagheera is a great shout. Just pick your favourite and call the other one Cat.

Yep, unless we're in desperate need for cutting firewood (like at AR10) or some other formidable occasion arises.
How can you not love kittens?
what did you call them then?
Like LPH's cats, they have yet to named.
Don't know why. We've never had a pet go this long without a name
The Mrs. and I just can't seem to agree on any names yet.
Lot's of good suggestions here.
Maybe I should just come up with a couple of names I like and start calling them that.
Sir Pouncealot and Mr Meoww...

They have names now!!!
Thanks to everyone for the fine suggestions. (and others)
The wife had started calling them sweetie and precious so HAD to come up with something.
A slit variation on ty_UK 's suggestion, their names are now Trixie and Pixie.
Not overly intellectual but fitting names for these two.

What a cruel thing to say.
Both of them together are hardly big enough for a good snack. ;)
