I'm looking at pulling Helga (T plate sv650s) apart for her bits as I don't think anyone would want my old hack with 78K on the clock and numerous issues.
I'm going to be keeping a few key bits, like CDI, loom, clutch basket, carbs and probably the rear wheel.
Everything else is going, now do you think anyone would be interested in the rest of the bits, that would be the frame, yokes, engine and swing-arm. Or would I just be best shoving it in the back of the van and taking it to the scrappy.
If I do that can anyone advise on what to do with that, there is a fair weight of metals in the bike so do they just weight it any make you a offer?

Ta.

I could be interested in the engine if it works.

PM me a price for the engine/ bike and I see what I can do...

The Engine has done 78K and developed a leak that I haven't bothered looking into. It seems mostly sound though there is a rattle in the top-end that I suspect is the shims/cams.
I'll be honest as say its had a hard life with me, riding through a few winters and a couple of crashes.

The main reason for getting rid is that I have 2, and I want to get a scooter and the most 'worn-out' one has to go.

In which case its going to be best for me to pass.

Your best bet would just be to stick it on eBay. Someone would have it. Not sure if you'll make more from that then scrap as I've no idea what scrap prices are like.

Pretty good at the mo.

Because of China's demand for steel, prices are at an all time high.

A few years ago I scrapped my mums Cavalier and got £50

Scrapped mine late last yeat and got £130

So prices have more than doubled.

Save the sellable stuff and scrap the engine & frame.

Wheels should fetch a good price I think, so don't scrap them

Yup that's what I suspected. I think I'll strip most of it and scrap the rest.
