just hit a pigeon head on with my head at at about 80mph (overtakin) wreked my helemt although it stood up well only one crack and lost a vent (agv gp tech)

coverd in guts and all that, luckly i stayed on the bike

but now im deff in my left ear where it hit not been A&E but might go if it dosn't go back to normal

i was supprised i stayed up as well, was shaking like a leaf though, will get pics up of the helmet later, its coverd in like white dust from the feathers i presume, my jacket probably dosn't conform to the U rating though so wont put that up ..

If I was you I'd keep the guts on the helmet and when you have a crash, say "I hit a pigeon look" and it will raise your chances of making a successful claim
