hope your joking and do know that to enter a rally the car has to have a road going model :)
My point was why build and sell a road going 4x4 mini which will just end up cruising around the urban environment.
As for being a rally car, it needn't be 4x4 off the factory line as its an allowed modification post production / pre rally entry.

the only reason was to enter the rally to get mini back in to the rally scene

What Dan is getting at, the rally rules changed this year to go to 1600 turbos or 2000cc Normally aspirated.
The vehicles also have to have some resemblance to a road going model (not like the old C4's, 207's 307's etc.. which you couldn't go out and buy)

Ahem--still low down in the reliability stakes apart from being expensive to buy and maintain plus not aesthetically pleasing to me
