Names Josh im 16 and turning 17 in july then i am taking my restricted licence if the money situation allows me! and hopefully getting a restricted SV but for now i'm still on my piaggio nrg after writing my aprilia rx50 off into a van oops......... :smt010:smt010:smt010
Can't wait to **** some car drivers off for all the times they have ****ed me off on me little scooter!
Been looking around on ebay keeping my eyes open for the right one at a good price, i've heard there about the best beginner bike you can start on for a big bike. plus being a twin meant to be good with restricters in so i've heard so thats what my mind is set on i'll keep dreaming till i've actually done my test but fingers crossed it all goes well and my birthday can't come soon enough!
Look forward to speaking to some of you and seeing your bikes.
Thanks Josh

Welcome to the forum Josh.
Good luck, you're gonna need it.
Welcome to the org.
Spped play - you got there before me!!
welcome to the forum. Beware of the animals ( except the Hamster!!)
though best drop the attitude - cars/van will normally always win in a battle!!
most of us carry battle scars to prove it!

CRAP are all the life boats full?
I'd be willing to settle for a life vest if there are any of those still available.

Welcome to the asylum.
I'm not sure there's much point trying to p*ss the cagers off. Just accept that most of them are cr*p drivers and overtake when the opportunity comes.

Welcome.
Stay out of the way of automobiles, did you not learn during your altercation with the van?

Josh big welcome to the site but please calm down a little and change your attitude before getting something more powerful than your Piaggio.
Yes car drivers can be a royal pain but sometimes they just don`t see us.... i`m guessing, as you`ve already written of your aprilia into a van, that maybe you need to improve your observation skills?
Attitudes like yours scare me and I don`t want you to be yet another statistic to add to the already way too large number of motorcycle fatalities.
Calm down lad!!! :D

Welcome Josh :)
As others have said, cars will win in a coming together, so try not to find out.
Even a restricted sv will leave most cars standing so just wait a few seconds then smoke em :)
Most important advice I can give, stay alive !!
Sounds like a cocky 50cc'er to me...

I'm sensible accidents happen didn't mean to write my bike off I mean smoke a few cars that have been impatient while I'm on my ped

Hey, it's cool, nobody sets out to crash (except that Svengali guy on Youtube), just a warning that there's no point being aggressive when you're the vulnerable party.
I hate to think what insurance on an SV for a 17 year old is gonna be...

Wont be that bad with 33bhp restricters there is a few 17 year olds out there with restricted svs so its possible

33bhp makes no difference to insurance. I expect it won't be cheap but it shouldn't be too bad either.
My advice,
1: Get a cheap curvy you won't mind bending a bit
2: Make sure your insurance company is reasonable about 33bhp "certificates" before you start the policy
3: Ride fast on nadgery B roads. Any fackin pussy can open throttle in a straight line.

:confused::scratch:
the earlier SV had a curvier front end and fairing = Curvy
the later SV had a pointy front end and fairing = Pointy
The change happened in 2003, it also went fuel injected and the frame shape changed that year :)
