:plod::plod::plod::plod::plod::plod:
Central Scotland Police is joining forces with police across Scotland to focus on motorists who drive over the speed limit.

The 'Weekend of Action' (from Friday 22nd April until Sunday 24th April) co-ordinated by the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland (ACPOS) is part of the Scottish Police Service's year-round commitment to reduce the number of casualties on our roads.

The campaign is run to highlight to all road users the dangers of speeding or driving at an inappropriate speed. Patrols in every force area will be on the look out for motorists breaking the law.

We got the trials last night in Glasgow coming back from the IAM meeting - 40ish in a 30 - glad to say we only got signalled to slow down. The plods aren't all that bad - as they probably should have pulled us all in.

The ironey isnt lost on me either :rolleyes:

Same old same old this sort of scare tactic at the start of the summer season. Go out convict a few making them think twice and scaring them into taking it easier in the nice weather. They'll tell their mates of thier experiance, and those folk will tell thier mates that so'on so got nicked etc and the list goes on. Nowt slows you down more than thinking is plod around the corner, (except a wall - they slow you down pretty quick too).

not as much of a scare tactic than a reality check mate-if it means that even one biker eases back a wee bit at the start of the "season" and it saves one bikers life, its worth it.

Hence my quip about the wall.
Its no secret that riders taking it steady are less likely to crash (badly) as opposed to those riding like nutters, but its the same sort of time every year you read/hear of these campaigns. Aimed at getting the message home at the start of the summer season when all the weekend warriors start coming out destroying verges and dry stone walls.
I dont disagree with the principal of the campaigns and no disrespect to the OP but if you're riding in a way that an article 5hits u up then you need more than a reality check - you need the scare.

EDIT: To expand, if you're a hoon-loon then you're gonna hoon regardless of that article. The only people it'll hit home with are those who enjoy a bimble with the odd rush of blood to the wrist IMO not the target audience

There's a Jag xf lurking around Stirling and was outside Glasgow today. Only hint its police is wee strobes behind grill. Have noticed its keen on the old baiting tactics to get speeders....

Think that will be guff! It depends on where the cars are bought from. And ours DEFO aren't prefixed with SF...

Pal is a yellow pearl and was going to book a car just as the folks came out of "Starbucks" and flashed the warrant cards, and "Don't you know our prefix?"
(no, she did not do them!:mrgreen:)

That is NONSENSE! The prefix on registrations only refers to where a vehicle was registered so whilst there might be a few if they were bought at the same place with the SF prefix, they won't all have it. And what the hell is a yellow pearl?
