View Full Version : Mega Cool Ride Out - May 21st
Sup chumps. So who fancies something big, and no i'm not talking about Mr Speirs' ego.
There's a few of us showing interest to a mid May rideout, not 100% on where we are going yet. Possibly somewhere around Market Harlborough/Rutland, maybe into Wales/Cross Keys or possibly further north and towards the Ponderosa. Any suggestiosn other suggestions or ideas welcome.
No excuses if you have to travel far to the start point. This will not be one to miss...
Discuss... :D

Lets do it again yay! Don't know whether I'll use the hyper or the gsxr yet. Probably the hyper as it'l be the first time I've done a ride with others on it and will make me push harder on it.

Sorry for not replying on here recently it's just that i have no handed in a years worth of work for 100% of my degree. **** yeah! Little bit hungover now though. :D
Right, so Wales it is then? Meet at Alan's Cafe near Kiddi for 09.45 onwards. Leave there at 10.30 and get cracking on that route to Newtown?
Am i leading this badboy or does someone else know what's what? I'd prefer not to lead it all if possible as A. I'm only certain on some of the route and B. I like making my way through the pack after drop offs... It get's lonely at the front...

Fitting new chain this Friday to the gixer so if that all goes well then I should definitely be there. This better be a good day for the distance I'm traveling to come play though!!!
120 miles isn't to bad...

:D... It will be 98 miles on the motorway to the start point for me if I come on this one, or 106 across the peak district if I go on the other one.
Both are more than worth it for the newtown/crossgates roads... it's like the perfect road.
(I hope it's clear and as good as I remember it lol)

I've not decided what to do yet, I just loathe doing 100 miles on the motorways a) on soft tyres, and b) because i always inevitably get bored which which always ends the same way lol... Plus I love the northwales roads/route.
Who's idea was it to have two rides on the same day lol :D
Alright kids. So whose still in on this? Was thinking that we can meet at Alan's Cafe/The Food Stop, then merge rides with the Border Patrol at Newtown? Means heading North into Wales though...
Something like this perhaps.

But at Cross Gates i guess those not wanting to do the longer route north can choose a different way home. Opinions...

I think I will break at crossgates and follow Phils route idea, heading west and then north just adds too much distance away from home for me. It's going to be a 400 mile+ day as it is.

Is it worth having a plan B in case weather is crap west but better east?
The roads we done the other week around Melton mowbray were very good so just in case might be worth considering.
I'm not going to Wales if rain is likely, even though my tyres are supposed to be very good in the wet, I just don't like riding in it.
Metcheck is predicting rain for both saturday and sunday for everywhere :( so it doesn't matter where you go there will be no escaping it if it's right.

BBC weather is saying cloudy with rain in Wales, brum is sunny spells.
Give it a day or two then decide? I don't mind heading over and around MM/MH...

Cool with me :)
I'll go to either as long as it's dry.
If the weather is bad over there, and good over here, then I am definetely in.
