Following on from Mykey's idea to go posing in Sunny Hunny on Monday........anyone fancy joining me in a little bimble over to the coast early on Monday morning.

I've got the route in my head, but need to know who fancies it before picking a start point.

Looking to get to Hunny by 10:30-11:00.

Roads are narrow, with lots of tight blind bends, sometimes gritty or muddy(not rained so will be fine) some light holiday traffic and a few quiet villages. It'll not be a mad rush more of a bimble.

I'll be taking the sort route home from Hunny as we've got a family lunch planned, so you can stay for as long as you want in Hunny and pick your own why home.

Sounds good, bit early if I am coming from Norwich though....

Post the your choice starting point and time and I'll try to make it without getting up too blinking early :)

There's a garage and maccy d's on the A47 at Swaffham. Garage might be a better hook up.....let me Google it. Mykey.....want to meet at Highgates flour in Downhan at 8:15. Rob could then meet you at the foldgate inn at stradtset about 8:30.

There's a Pace BP Garage on the A47 On the Norwich side of Swaffham....suggest we meet here for a 9:30 get away?

According to google street view I have to pass the garage to get to the McD's so I'll just keep an eye out on the way through...if I am early and have beaten you there then I'll head to McD's for a coffee and maybe one of their god awful muffins...

I'll PM my mobile number too and if you could do the same?

Now what to do until then with my newly serviced bike

edit: that BP is the one next to the McD's anyway right? Third exit on the roundabout from Norwich direction, and 1st exit from Swaffham...

If i come along i'll just meet you at the garage saves you having to stop somewhere else as well its only 15 mins away for me anyway.

Hey, newbie lurker from Downham Market here!

I'd like to meet some other local bikers, and do a ride that isn't my A10 commute. Mind if I join you on Monday?

bigbaddad have you got a certain route in mind, the little stretch of the b1145 east from gayton to the swaffham/fakenham road is good for a little blast

Yeah I've got a bit of a route planned. But. I'll check out Google maps to see where you mean.

Hi mat, welcome to join us. Want to meet in Downham about 8:15.

Understood. 8:15 is earlier than I leave for work so I'll just have to add an extra espresso shot to my morning coffee :-) Should be worth it to make something of the day.

Just too confirm, we're talking Monday. Not Sunday which is the 1st.

Rob, that road looks good, we'll be going into Gayton anyway.

where were you all

I just got back from a ride, I was intending on a longer ride but I managed about 40 miles until I got fed up with the wind gusts, first time I've been out in gusts on a tall bike like the SMT, hard bloody work compared to sports faired bikes....

I hope tomorrow lets off, the metoffice forecast says it'll be much the same again, gusts of around 30-40mph...

rant over, I'll still come out for the ride regardless, just may need to take it easier and not have so much fun :)

Going to be a gentlish ride.

Suits me fine. I'm booked in for a new chain and sprockets next Monday and I need to take it easy until then! Only been riding since last July but I've done over 10,000 miles due to commuting. That said, it's been mostly on the A10 so I'm not used to twisties.

Bear in mind the "ish"

You're not alone being a new rider, I've only been riding since August last year, albeit any chance I get....I dread to think how much I've spent on fuel riding aimlessly about! Working on chicken strip removal on the new bike.....little by little though, it's a completely different kettle of fish to the SV.

See you tomorrow

Yeah, thanks all, some nice roads today.....and Mykey....you need a pointy to pose with an faired SV! :p

Nice day for it, although a bit breezy here

Was a bit breezy here too, some stretches of the roads were hard work, thankfully that lovely Gayton road is well sheltered for the most part though

Nice to meet up with you all and go for a bimble, it was also nice only having a 15 min ride to meet up instead of the usual hour or so of boring roads.
