Poxy thing decided to die on me, while fitted to the bike, so I had a complete sense of humour failiure as I had all my gear on at 6.35 the other morning on the way out to work. Seems the tumbler mechanism in the lock failed and the key just spun round and failed to do anything.

Took the car, cursing at my super german engineered Lidl item.

collected some new cutting discs at work, and when I got home promtly cut the bugger off, loosing 20 minutes I`ll never see again :smt082:smt082:smt082

heres the result, and the moral of the story, dont buy a Lidl disc lock. Actually glad it happened at home, id have been well chuffed if it happened in the high street or somewhere equally bad for repairs.

...amazing when a 1 second squirt of WD40 would have fixed it ;)

Agreed, I had the same problem with my disc lock and a few squirts of lithium grease sorted it. Lee; at least you know it would've held out for 20mins or so to a thief though lol.

WD40 was no match for Lidl :p sprayed in just before i went to work, and 9 hours later tried some more. poxy thing went on fine too.

If I buy another it wont be cheapo, although the battery charger loads of us got from Lidl looks alright.............................maybe that better stay in the box :smt082

20mins! What are the cutting discs made of - marzipan?

How can it have taken more than a few seconds with a disc cutter to go through that thing - whatever it's made of.

must have been hardened steel I guess, the discs did come from work and they do buy cheap cack at times, wore 1 new disc down as far as it could go.
