go and hit your tyre fitter with a tyre leaver. while ok to do it the CS might get into the bearings and this is not a good idea.
+1 to above. i use the same stuff. the only place i dont use it is on calliper seals.

Copper grease should not be used anywhere that it might reach bearings.

Well wont be using him again!
Anyways, did the deed, update and questions in the other thread.
Noticed that the spindle had no grease on it even though it did come out very easily and remembering the tyre fitter having issues with it when he did my tyre.

Okay, only interested, what does cs do to bearings?
Guessing it might spoil the seals?

I would not use copper slip to lubricate bearings but I don't believe it will cause any problem on the spindle or near a bearing. I use it on all my bikes to lightly coat the spindles.
from what i know it effectively copper plates the bearings and races. this might sound good but this plating comes off and cases clumps which in turn will cause premiture wear on the bearing as the bearing grinds the larget particles to get past. copper slip has copper powder in it which is fine as an anti squeal or seize but not good on bearings. but as usual i could be wrong.

Thanks, Bibio, though copperslip near a bearing should not harm anything, would agree if it was used to lubricate the bearing.

At the risk of sounding like a bit of tardis, whenever I remove my wheels I always grease the axles with just multi-purpose grease. Is that okay?

Sounds a good idea Chris. Perhaps I should put the tin of copperslip on the back shelf!

I have used coppaslip for donkeys years on the front & rear spindle. I do about 12000 miles a years & have never had a problem with bearings.
I only put a light smear on the spindles. I was once told too much of a good thing doesn't make it a better one.

I used some multi purpose Castrol grease I found in the garage... I think that pot of grease is older than me but it is still clean so in it goes.
