hi Ecossers. i thought that i might be a good idea to put up roads that we come across that are totally burgerd so everyone knows to stay away.

this road is absolutely shot with pot holes and side erosion:

A822 in one location when travelling southbound just North of Amulree (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=amulree&ie=UTF8&hl=en&hq=amulree&hnear=&radius=15000&ll=56.511408,-3.778996&spn=0,0.022724&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=56.511337,-3.779537&panoid=lPcZ8gcGbjCuJssGMsNBrw&cbp=12,247.36,,0,-2.97) but it's a bad 'bump' on the Apex of the bend that could throw you off your stead

Anyone heading for Skye, Applecross, etc.

The A87, Invergarry to Bonloyne Junction. Badly patched with lumps and ruts, shame as its a stunning route. Instead, stick on A82 via Ft Augustus and Invermorriston, nice n smooth.

Murdo,Is it that bad as to make the detour,or just ride a bit slower? We will be coming up from Oban so if you suggest going up to Invermoriston it will only be about another 10 miles.

Will we be seeing you in Saucy Marys? Mon 23/5

Hi Mac. I've done it twice southwards in the last week. Bad enough not to want to go back the same way! Some of the ruts shake you to the core, so on a long trip I'd plump for the other road. To make it really worthwhile, sample the fish n chips at The Lock Inn and sit by the locks at Fort Augustus. Bliss.

Saucy's... well I'm due to be off work on Tuesday 24th, so may see you there if work plans remain same.

Yes, that's it. Especially the first 5-7 miles northwards.... the twisty bit.
