anyone on here breed Gecko's ??

my daughter is 13 in a few weeks and wants a pet Gecko, she knows all about them :study: its just where to get one from, tinternet says best buy is from a private breeder and not pet shops.

Daz, my nephew does, he's training in animal care ATM specialising in reptiles, hes not long left a big reptile dealer in erdington where he worked for 18 months.
He's helping me ATM so will see him Tomoz, he's got 3 himself.
You'll need a viv etc as well, the food costs can mount up as well.

Tbh I don't see the attraction with them, my nephew has a chameleon as well which looks a bit more interesting.

i do prefere she has a gecko rather than the bearded dragon she was looking at lol

Bearded dragons are that common, I could get you one for free cos the shop he used to work at can't get rid of them I think.
What they do is say free dragon if you buy a viv sp that it looks like a good deal, truth is they aren't worth anything cos they breed like rabbits.

We have a leopard gecko.
It was a rescue/gift but I understand it came from a local bird breeder and not the pet shop.

Some friends of ours who wanted a bearded dragon, after seeing Stella (yes named after the beverage) loved her so much they got a gecko from the local pet shop and have not had any problems.
