I'm looking to get spare clutch, generator and water pump covers so I can paint them black.

I was looking to powder coat them, but wondered if they'd be better painted with engine paint or Hammerite etc?

Thoughts/recommendations please...ta!

Powdercoating isn't really an option for the clutch cover as it's plastic. Unless you're talking about the main engine cover around the clutch? The others you could though. Some high temperature engine paint in a rattle can would be ideal.

Yep - talking about the engine cover and clutch cover. The only thing with rattle can is the prep I'd need to do, rub down etc. I guess that's the only option for the plastic clutch cover and if I'm doing that with a rattle can, I may as well do the other bits the same way to make sure the colour matches.

Go to local car paint shop and have them make up the colours. You don't necessarily need high temp paint, as think about it....if a car bonnet can withstand the sun beating down on it in the mid summer sun, its good enough for you clutch covers and crank casings, even the engine, as it don't get over 120 drgrees

take your covers with you to have them match exactly.
