Last year we had a few good runs along to Weston Bike night, figured why not try and get at least one done this year.
Am going to try and make the 19th of May bike night and wondered if anyone would be attending and/or want to sort out some form of rideout to get us there.
I have no idea of any routes yet (as last year they were all organised by someone else and people who know of good roads in that area) so am open to any/all suggestions.
Anybody interested?

I am on a training course in Nailsea on that day and will be back in Weston by Five PM. I will however have a friend on the back seat and she is not fully used to bikes, but a ride out could be a lot of fun. If we have to meet you guys somewhere, I would be up for it and I am sure that my friend will be too.
My friend here is asking his sister because she has a Yellow Curvy and might be up for a ride too!

Yep. Shakedown ride was tonight, a success. Full details to follow once I find the cable to get the photos off of my phone. So don't tell anyone as I haven't updated the rebuild thread yet.

You boys and your hormones! [-X
For all you know, she could be one of the sisterhood! :smt103
Also if I had any single female friends, do you think that I would introduce them to you lot?
Well actually, there is one and she is desperate to pass her test and buy a Fazer! If anyone thinks that they can work their magic on her, get in touch! ;)

I know, I think that when I read about you lot up North. I think that it comes down to a simple thing. Riding an SV and posting on the Org just makes you cool. Although I am not sure it includes me, as I sit here singing alone to the Meads of Asphodel! :smt103

Doh, I meant talking her around to buying an SV! It is just always filth with you lot isn't it! :smt082
Anyway, my friend is pretty, blonde and loves bikes more than she loves anything else in the world. I might tell her about you lot, depends how nice you can be? :smt081
Anyone got a pillion pad going empty that could be filled by a lovely girly? :smt007

I have met you though, so I know how nice you are really!
Anyway, Said pretty girly has been sent a link to this thread and asked if she would care to join. She loves going for rides on the pillion pads of SV's, but does crave the joys of a Fazer. I shall leave it up to you lot to correct her of her evil thoughts! :smt103

I have no idea/memory of the routes we took last year. Was hoping someone who went last year would come along/provide a route/lead the ride

This thread has put a big grin on my face ... I think its the Keep talking *wipes tears from my eye* I know a route that I would take up there but never ridden up to Weston. But you know me and my ability to find cracking roads Dan and then we come home with our arses recked ;) hahaha
Its not like you hit the engine cut off after my bike had one of its moments. Found out what it was just some dirty **** from the bottom on the tank shes finally lost all the crap that she had in there since I got her, ran cleaner through it before meeting you that day ... you should have heard her over the moors on the way back she was Roaring as if she'd just been released into the wild of the Moors. I had a definate boost in performance that wasn't there before we hit Plymouth just like when I changed the Spark plugs. That could explain why I popped that power wheelie too which was my first wheelie on the SV and first since my first which was on a dirt bike that I fell off of! ... the previous owner I am pretty sure hated the Bike he did less that 2000 over eight years and dropped her ... Then again he was called something like Prince Azabar and lived in London :| Think it was just his toy.
Either way totally up for this and will draw out a route if requested :)

Haha that was so stupid, your bike stopping at the lights like that! Still swear it was you hitting the kill switch :p
With regard to the route. For us, I was thinking just blast up the M5 to Weston/Bristol area and have the ride start from there. That way we get more ppl coming for the ride and it ends at the bike night.
Jayne, is the hog roast still going?

I think B3181 then the A38 on the way up its like the M5 without the boring. I reckon it'd be a gentle bimble on the M5 on the way back though as I think this would be the most miles I'd have done in a day on my Bike. Rich would probably come along thats so long as it isn't raining, fecking fair weather biker!
Nah you should hear her now, she stalled again after I'd put her back together again. That time the Kill switch wasn't hit so awoke with a bang but by this point your headphones and helmet were on. I think thats why the Micra driver was so adgetated and stormed past me that Cough/Bang/Splutter/Bang on start up ... i say bang it was more that happy I've got nice things in me noise that bikes make like when you open the throttle. Seriously the moors weren't ready, I love my bike shes turned from a 9 months of non-mover and non-runner and found her legs again and they are some fast purdy legs. She laughs at your SV and its silly Blue square looks ;)

If we take any other route there it will take way too long n will miss the whole thing.
Am hoping that will get a good route set from a meeting point closer to Weston and have the rideout from there.
And oi you! And least my bike didn't throw a strop at a set of traffic lights :p

Hey! thats only my bikes 3rd strop and shes always stormed off afterwards, shes a talker, her alarm proves that! Indeed shes a charmer of a bike, I know but I think that'd be a route and a half and the M5 is teadious at speed limits, even my "I Ride at the Speed Limit" Limit LMAO I might just set off at like 12 and take that route, I think if its lovely weather I don't care. I'd meet you for the rideout too then you can roll on the M5 where I do lane changes just so I can have something to do :|

Jayne, is the hog roast still going?
The Hog Roast is sadly discontinued. However, Scallies are providing food such as Hot dogs, burgers and chips

As much as I may sound like a Kill Joy, revision is probably the most sensible choice. Good luck kiddo XXX

As posted by YMB in the official WBN thread:
Don't know if any of you lot did go up there for this Thursday, I've been nursing an illness all week thats making me rather irratable now as with a runny nose its annoying on a bike. Need something like a balaclava or something. Meh my personal Wo's aside I drew up this little map a few minutes ago
THE MAP OF EXTREME AWESOMENESS CLICK IT IF YOU DARE (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=206786252296775120042.0004a32675d66020ceb09)
Hopefully that works as always the map is free for me to edit and update. There is a marker on it on the A38 which is a little lane that sides off from the A38 on cheddar and we used to use it as a stop when I was a kid before we would continue into Cheddar and the likewise area. People coming up from the South West can also easily get at it if they're M5ing it at Junction 22. I however as you can see intend on riding the long way on the more exciting roads leaving Exeter Services at around 3 this gives allowance for stops, traffic and such.
Forecast as I see it at the moment is "Drizzle" but this is a week away. If its terrible or even vaguely rubbish I may just not go but if its light and looks not to be getting to heavy or something I'll be there never been to Weston Bike night and not been to Weston in a good 4 years now. Ummm anything else I can think of :king:
Nope the King didn't help my thoughts but does look awesome. Oh year for ride back I intend on just a gentle ride on the M5 which'll be the most Motorway miles I'd have done on her since I got her.
This is open to all bikes not just SV's obviously and I think my Mate will be coming along who is quite a Novice still so Speed and Pillions are welcomed. Also is there anyone who is used to riding with a Pillion as there was a guy who posted on here about taking photographs doesn't have a licence but happy to be Pillion. I'd invite him on mine but I've only had a Pillion on my Bike for 500m's as I gave him a lift to his and wouldn't trust myself. Just a thought as it could provide some nice images like through the gorge and such.
Also the Loop through Cheddar Gorge and such is basically me wanting your inputs as to what would be a good way to go and then we'd finish at the Bike Night.
Ok is that enough information I think I've babbled enough.
Basics
Meeting at Exeter Services Leaving at 3
Riding to Meeting point on A38 meeting there between 5.30/6
Riding through Gorge and other such lovely places
Arriving at Bike Night
Leaving Bike Night and M5 Home
