will vinegar and meths do it without scratching the visor?
use a NEW microfibre cloth and it should be ok. the more pressure you use the more chance of scratching it.

it will scratch easier once coating removed.

Is this something that came with the visor or are we talking about some kind of Rain-X type product?

Shark lid by any chance?
PITA is anti fog. Every visor I've had ends up with it rubbing up, right in the middle where you wipe rain off it.
Its the only thing I don't like about Shark lids.

Use a new microfibre cloth and a motorbike helmet cleaning spray and it completely takes it off.
I accidentally did this when I first got my new lid and didn't realise that it had anti fog :(
A pin lock insert soon fixed my fogging problems :)
