View Full Version : Got my priorities right
In the garage tonight doing some work on the cafe racer, I did the old "getting off the bike without the sidestand down" trick.
I caught it with my knee on the side of the tank but was past the point of no return and was a bit stuck.
The choice was between the bike and the leg. Easy. Yanked up on the bars and threw my leg under the bike. As it came down I rolled off and ended up sprawled across the floor scattering the contents of the garage to all four corners, with the bike on top of me.
Got it back up sharpish when I realised the tank was brimmed and petrol was ****ing all over my shoes.
No damage to the bike, but various cuts and bruises and my already dodgy knee is killing me.
Good save though. :D
thank feck for that.
top tip PUT THE STAND DOWN rofl :-)
Well held :thumleft: i'd have done the same lol

Now you have mastered the art of doing it while stationary the next trick is NOT doing it while on the move.:D
You are not the first and undoubtable not the last. Most likely there are a few on here who have done the same thing at one time or another. Got the T-Shirt, the same muppets club----------me for one

OH MY WORD! What a save... good job buddy - i did this with my first ever bike whilst trying to get it on a paddock stand, ended up pinned between a chest freezer and the bike as a result of trying to stop it

Good save, I can't be licking your bike with sharp broken pointy bits attached to it! ;)

I pinned myself against next doors back door one morning, in fact, on the way to an org meet!
I managed to squeeze around the drainpipe, and over the top of the bike, that back door was a good place to leave it I suppose.
I had been shouting for a while, with my lid on for help, but the OH was upstairs and couldn't hear me :(

and here's a save from one of our neighbours :)
