1. All geared up, climb on the bike, pull the clutch in and.....nothing. Cable seems loose but not snapped so may be fixable. ANNOYED!
2. Back into the house, out of the biking gear, into my work stuff, and then go to call a taxi, and realise I've left my iPhone on my desk at work, and with no home phone, I'm unable to call a taxi. ANNOYED!
3. So, I start walking to try to find a phone box to call a taxi to get me to work. I'm training some people at the moment so can't afford to be late. Suited, booted, no brolly as it's in the car which the wife has taken, and then the heavens open. Annoyed AND soaked!
4. Get a taxi, £20 fare. Grrrrr!!!
5. Wedding anniversary today and I left the wife's card at work with my phone so she thinks I forgot.
I wish I'd stayed in bed......

It's not over yet, you've got a day at work, a trip home and a wife to face, better get her a present as well.
Gosh darn it.
Good luck with the rest of the day :D
Dont cross any roads or walk under any ladders.

I'd go back to bed and get out of the other side...might have better luck!
Best buy a card and some flowers on the way home!

Think I've resolved the clutch. Recent oil change so may well be I've used the wrong oil and the plates are sticking. I'll have a word with the previous owner and see whether he changed it to fully synthetic and if he has, then problem definitely solved.
Already have the card so I'll show her the receipt with Tuesday's date on if she doubts me! I have a table booked for Saturday night so that should keep her quiet. I just hope she knows how to play snooker.....
So not such a bad day afterall
Hope it continues to improve
be prepared to give the other half some of the good stuff tonight Weegie, could be a long night :D

Dramatic, but factually correct I guess :smt023
and after a bad start like that It surely can only get better.
Tell the missus the story and she'll probably laugh at you.
even morse so if you're normally organised and non forgetful!
Seeing as no one else has commented on it...

Oil - £40
Oil filter - £10.50
Washer - £1.50
Time spent removing fairings, removing oil filter, draining oil, putting on new filter, adding new oil - about 2 hrs
Weather - persisting it down, none stop
End result?
Bike still doesn't work. It was a snapped clutch cable after all.

Well, I arranged to take her out for a meal tonight and she was supposed to ask her folks to babysit. She forgot, so she gets to be in the bad books.
