SO.

I bought a new front end for my SV after a crash, which included the front wheel AND set of tyres (bibio ). The front wheel however was black and I wanted it respraying silver, so I went off to my local bike shop and asked them to take the tyre and the discs off the black rim, and also to remove the tyre from my old silver front rim. I explained to them why I was having this done.

Got the rims and the tyres back and I've noticed a tear in part of the tyre that came off the black rim (see pics). :( The tyre had never been taken off that rim before as it's the stock tyre for the SV (came from a 1000 mile bike), my intention was to have the tyre put back on once the rim was resprayed but now I'm not sure if it's safe, what do you guys think?

Got my worried face on as I can't really afford new tyres after paying for all the new parts for my bike.

that more than likely happenned when it fitted origionally, shoulp be alright as long as its just the rubber thats torn and not the structural bands.

Just a bit nervous about it as obviously it's quite important that the tyre works properly!:smt115

by the looks of the pics, it's not on anything structural, so merely a question of whether it'll hold air, but ask your tyre fitter if in doubt, a good one won't fit anything they consider dangerous anyway, and they see far more than you or me.
