My bike is currently in pieces on the driveway with fairings off because im removing the front fairing to replace an import headlight unit for a uk one. Everythings done but I cant get the connectors apart for the indicators's.

Problem is I'm too scared to pull them too hard in case I damage them. There is a pic below. Is it a case of pulling the wires to separate them or is there something i'm missing.

Apologies for being a bit dim!!!

Thanks, KJ x

they look like crimps? With crimps you usually insert the 2 seperate wires at each end and then crush the crimp so it grips the 2 wires together and connects the circuit?

Are you completely removing or just swapping the indicators over? Best case would be to replace the crimps with new ones... have you got any electrical tape at all? Bit rough and ready but you could just remove crimp, then twist the exposed ends of each wire around each other and wrap in electrical tape to keep them together..

Proper bodgetastic but if it's good enough for YC then hey ho :D

Push the rubber tubes down the wire then pull the connectors apart.

well apart from being a right bodge job you could just snip of the wires on each side of the connection and re-attach them using the sparky tape method above until you can either solder them or replace with new crimps?

make sure to note which wires connect to each other though :)

They look like bullet connectors to me. Ideally move the rubber out of the way first, if they've just been crimped in then simply pulling them can unfortunately pull the wires out of the bullets.

Tis done!!

Was just a case of long nose pliers and a good hard tug :p

Just hope I can get the feckers back in again!!

Thanks for the quick responses xx
