Got this to play on for a bit while my sprint is serviced.

First impressions...

Nice riding position,
Brakes are crap and massively less effective than my sprint,
Engine lacks a bit of low down grunt, have to rev it hard to get it to go, but it does once you do :)
Handles well, already halved the chicken strips that were on it just on ride home, tyres are really squared off as well,
Lovely and smooth and it's comfortable as well.

It's way too quiet,
Rattles a bit, loads of little noises but doesn't affect smoothness.

Anyway, I would defo consider one when my sprint is up for replacement, I'm going back out now !!

Nice one! always nice to have a play on something new.
Is it just me or does all that headlight faffery make it look weird? could be the camera angle but it looks like its a new lego kit or something with all the bits technically fitting together but not looking quite right.

Those headlight protectors make it look weird in the pic to be fair.

I quite like the look of the bike / headlights tbh.

They do look better in reality, if its what I think it is.

BUT, I don't recall the front end being so damn ugly! Looks like its been squashed, and a **** pair of 'fighter' headlights have been added as an after thought.

I tested one, couldn't wait to get back on my Versys. I wasn't at all impressed and think anyone thinking of buying one really ought to try the opposition beforehand. To get one to the spec my Versys is would cost damn near 10 grand, and it's nowhere near worth that when I can do the same with a new Versys for about 2 1/2 grand less and I'd enjoy the bike more. Wind protection is almost zero, the seat is not all day comfortable, it handles ok but not as well as what I already own, the brakes are pants despite looking like they should really do the business and ABS is not required because you'd have a job locking them up on greased ice, it's not really a bike suited to all day riding over a couple of weeks, which is what it was designed to do... in short it's not all it's been made out to be by the factory and the magazines.

It's a shame, because I've liked every other Triumph I've ridden and was seriously going to put my own hard earnt into one of these until I rode one.

I thought it was just me that didn't like the brakes because I'd been spoilt on the speed triple, so this is mildly reassuring... IMO, they were barely sufficient for the bike. Nearly put me off adventure styled stuff, but luckily I recovered ;)

Nope, that bike I had today, the brakes were very inadequate, they did stop if you pushed them but had no initial feel.
I nearly stoppied my sprint when I got back on that :)

I did really enjoy it though, it handled well, a lot better than I'd expected tbh.

Cant comment on the engineering or handling as ive never had the chance to try one yet but on the looks well it looks like they forgot to finish it or its had the fairings taken off and left off? Hmm bit unsure about this one.

Im sure its a nice bike to ride but it is very fugly. What idiot designer thought it a good idea to weld the pillion pegs to the subframe on a offroad orientated machine?

One small off and its bye bye subframe.

Meah, you're being to harsh, you need to look at it as a hole. It works better. Plus, it's in the wrong color. Here, courtesy of ashonbikes.com

They do look much better in the flesh... Sat on one and got to take a real up close look at 'em and seemed very nice, but I've not ridden one yet...

I don't think they're ugly, I like them :)

I still think the brakes are it's weak point not it's looks.
