View Full Version : New bike! Guess what... It's an SV.
Myself and Davies are now joint owners of "thing" our shared SV which will be our trackbike.
It needs a few bits and bobs (engine change or cylinder head change) to get it on the road so we are going to track it right up at the same time.
We both started on SVs and are proud to be back in the biggest clan of SVers this side of er... somewhere. It brings a tear to both of our respective eyes.
Yippee!

We've got four motors - and only a mere three of them are broken.
In that case we accept your gift of a motor if ours breaks.
Thanks!

I'd love to but ultimately is it worth posting more pics of another blue curvy? (I'm down the pub too and we didn't take any).
We sort of called it thing because it just came out. It's actually pretty good (if a curvy!).
Bought from Hallasv recently advertised on here. If it's a wrongen I have his details and I know people ;)

what front fairings that??
K4/5 gsxr 600/750.
It's just sitting on there at the moment to give us a vision of what it'll be like. There is a mass of space between the fairing and the frame.

I would but Paul wants a fairing so a fairing it shall be. I'm not too bothered how it looks and as it's shared I'm perfectly happy to stick the fairing on.
I can't wait to get it on the track but other things need doing before we can get properly stuck in.
How much should we expect to get if we sell all the road stuff?
We've got mirrors, pillion pegs and hangers, complete fairing, headlight, rear light, possibly the front fairing bracket/subframe and a few little parts.
Quite like the fairing but on a budget I might have went without. Is the bike running yet? I'm sure between on here and on fleabay you'll shift most of the road stuff, especially the fairing bits.
I will give the passenger seat cowl a new home if it needs one.
Good work so far gents.

for all that i'd be looking to get about 300 quid

No not running yet. Need to strip and clean the carbs and either get a helicoil or thread insert fitted in the front cylinder OR change the cylinder OR fit a spare engine we might be getting.
It'll probably be a while yet. I just couldn't resist working on it yesterday. It was a breeze taking it apart!
Taking it apart is easy, putting it back together it can be tricky! Ha ha
I found organisation is key, don't lose anything. I'll be keeping tabs on this as I could be joining the track bike gang when my bank balance gets better
Ahh, which reminds to put the guzzling beast that is the thou back on the road.
Fairing!
Poofs.

Of what?
Those nancy boys only have one, and they're bolting rubbish onto it.
We've heavily lightened one of ours - the same will occur to the other one soon :D.

Admin, Fizz, TSM zap the spammer!!!
Dave slowly started kissing my pantyhose as I undone the last bolt for the headlight. "Stop it Dave!" I yelled, his excited paws now all over the front subframe...

Nothing's that bad really - only right now nothing actually runs, we haven't even touched the second one yet. Simply, we need more garage time, and then the resurrection will commence!

Believe me - you don't know the half of it .
Nice thread. Look forward to seeing it progress!

Any further forward?
I've got a battery tray that would work if your repositioning the battery forward or murdering the undertray
Nope. Haven't really had time to do anything more other than get some spares. We'll have to wait and see what shock goes in before considering the battery box.
