Under rear seat tray?

Hi guys.
Is there a tray of some sort under the rear seat (in the storage compartment)?
Mine doesn't have one but would like to know if the compartment is sealed or enclosed in some way. Wanna be able to keep stuff like gps, cigs bottle of coke etc in there as leathers aren't the most roomy for things like that!

I have a k3 pointy. It has a little compartment where the tool kit goes, I can fit my oxford chain and lock in there... Just. I'm not sure id put the sort of things you mention in there as it isn't sealed, maybe if you put them in a bag first it would be ok. If you want I can take a picture tomorrow morning to show you want I mean.

There's the storage place under the rear seat. But it's not sealed in anyway apart from the seat you put on top and the lock of that. Things will stay in there, but don't count on it being waterproof or completly secure if you're keeping a GPS in there while parked up. Although annoyingly theres no plate to stop things running away down under the main seat and towards the battery, I've had a couple of small things go down that way a bit and having to dig them out.

The tool compartment is between the rear shock and rear wheel. Just behind the chain. It's about 5 inches by 1.5, just by memory, don't take it as exact measurements. Its got a small popping type clasp on the top. Like a little circle, just pull it and then work the 'door' off, there's a hinge type thing on the bottom. The tools are pretty useless, they may work if you got stuck so I keep them there. I don't know how waterproof it is and it's certainly not the roomiest of places, nor secure in anyway at all. Well what's in it won't fall out, but it won't be secure from theft.

For a bottle of coke and packet of ciggys. The underseat compartment should be fine. You might have to squash the coke bottle down but it does fit. I've done it a couple of times. And cigarettes will fit no worries. As for GPS, I wouldn't ride with it in there. It would rattle around and wouldn't do it much good. But for general storage parked up I would maybe consider it but would try and take it in my pocket. For riding, maybe consider a small tank bag? Or tail pack?

By the way. Would the panniers in stradders post http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=166800 fit it? Or would the pipes melt them?

Looks similar height to my old micron setup, some of the oxford humpbacks would work by the look of it.

Nice paint job you got on there, not seen one like that before. Bet those pipes give a bit of a roar too :D

The panniers may be ok, some of them have a protective type material on that side to help with high exhausts. Would be worth checking out. Or maybe look into somesort of protective material, like you can get the non slip stuff to protect your paint, maybe there's some that's heat resistant too.
