SWYPE for a different and easy (once you get used to it) method for entering text, i have big fingers and it makes texting on touch screens easier for me so i don't keep pressing the wrong letter.
It isn't in the android market though so just type SWYPE into google and you should find, and is simple to install.

How much data allowance you get a month? I get 1 gb a month and only get through about 20% of my allowance. I browse the forum, go on facebook and check my emails daily with that too.
As for apps. Get 3G watchdog, it just sits in the background and lets you knoew if you're getting near to your allowance. Resets itself every month.
Addictive games.... paper toss :D

Call confirm, stops me ringing the wrong person simply because my fat fingers seem incapable of spanning a single menu option.

Both handy apps as I found texting isn't easy even with my thin fingers
