It's a bike safe thing, £25 if for an assessed ride and 15 minutes on track.
The actual day is free to get in to castle combe and it's basically a bike show with a load of stands and food. Should be good

I don't know but me and Squirrel have to register for the police ride at 11:00 so I aim to be there for about 10:00. You're welcome to have a break here if you want but we're only about 10 mins from Castle Come so prob not worth it. And we're not in stray towers anymore

If in doubt (and if you don't already know the way) M5 north, M4 towards London and it should be signposted for the track from juction 18 and 17.

Or if you really get stuck I could meet you just off jct 17 about 09:30 if you want, I want to get there for 10:00

yeah but they sit down poole quay and don't bat an eyelid at it, its just nicer to ride that over the ranges than the thunderace but I suppose I'll bring that if your going to whine so much

You can come off the M4 onto the M32, take the first exit and go left to follow the ring road and get onto the A420, stay on that and you take a left just before Chippenham to get to Castle Combe.

I wouldn't have thought they would care too much about the SV. Its loud but not too loud. But you may have an issue making it quiet enough (if there is any space) to take it round the circuit.

Will there be room to get on the track? I thought you needed to be booked in ect

I'm gna guess it will depend entirely on if it's full or not. If it's not fully booked then there may be a chance....but having not been to one of these before I can't say for sure.

The idea is that you have to book on the bikesafe and the track is part of that, but last year Squirrell didn't book on, there were places left so you never know.

Your SV won't be allowed on track for deffo though even if there are places.

I'll be putting my baffle under the seat just incase there is space.

It's only slightly above average on noise

I doubt the 5-0 will care about the sound of your pipes.

But if you want to get on track scrutinering care and are very strict.

For this reason my bike will be sounding like a sewing machine tomorrow.

If you are trying for a lap of the track, standard cans are recomended...

There noise limit is 105db at 3/4max revs. When I did Combe TD my zorst read at 102db with the baffle in. So I'm taking the baffle, and will put it if required

Cheers all for a good day out. Trip back was uneventful. Is a shame WB couldnt shut up enough to get through noise testing, the ride and track session were good. :p

Well gutted that Wideboy's Thunderace didn't pass the noise test, a bit peaved too, there were DEFINITELY louder bikes out there on the track.

Hi guys, I didn't post last night because I wasn't sure if I could make but I diverted my ride and got down there at about 1 o'clock. I only heard about it from your posts so I hadn't booked a track session but really wish I had even if it meant riding around with the Police for 45 mins road instruction first. I've never seen so many police bikes in one place at the same time ever.

I actually spoke with the exhaust noise testers and asked for a free check so I could be sure that the Beowulf exhaust would pass on any future track day. I walked back got the bike and trundled round. Surprisingly it passed, they whacked a sticker on the screen they waved me through to join the back of the track group waiting at the track entrance. For a moment I thought about actually going out but then considered what it would feel like if I had made the group one to big and the marshalls had flagged everyone back in..........shame of it.

The track looked great from where I was nice and wide but I wonder what that temporary chicane was like just before the entrance. Looked as though it was a bit of a spoiler.

Anyhow as they say....next year!
