Sad news, and the race proper hasn't even started yet.

I can't help feeling that just a little more in the way of safety barriers might have to put in. No matter how much people love it, and it's not like the riders don't know it's dangerous, but the Safety Elves are going to have a field day if anyone else dies.

RIP guys and warmest sympathies to the families.

The greatest bike race in the world though some stunning scenery, but has always been a dangerous course.

Thoughts and prayers for the families and friends.
Very sad news.

67 and 59?? Fair play to the fellas, going out doing what they loved. Very sad to read however

Very sad news, you just don't bounce like the young'uns at that age :(

In fairness safety barriers are going to do very little when you hit them at 100+ within a few meters of falling off. They are probably only there to keep the safety police reasonably happy.

I can't believe Health and Safety haven't turned the Manx GP into a tiddlywinks competiton. Motorcycling is dangerous and shouldn't be allowed!!!
