I've a mate who spends all his spare cash on snap-on tools. Its an addiction, he has stuff that'll never be of use to anyone. He must have as much as in that sale, and its all still shiny shiny.

Justifiable?

Who do you think the buyers are?

I cant imagine there are many individuals that have that kind of cash laying about for a toolset the average joe would make use of to justify that expenditure. Even businesses (garages etc).

Rich people buying to resell in smaller bulk perhaps?

My younger brother worked out that during serving his time and 10 years in garages he must have spent at least 11 grand with the snap on man. My old fella stopped one van and got him to deliver a roll cab and chest for over 2 grand. People do spend it. Worse was when I had enquired what had happened to my dads tools when I went up one day. My step mother said "Oh as they were just stuck in the garage I gave them away".Grrhhh The only reason I had left them there was I felt I was robbing his corpse if I simply said can I take them.

Tim, that's terrible, I'd be gutted if I'd missed something that my dad owned and should've been passed to me.

An old woman a few years ago who I was doing a fence for, offered me her late husbands wooden tool box and it's contents, I refused for pretty much this reason, I wouldn't want her family to miss out on them and think I was taking the pi55.

Yeah, I can see 11 grand over an accumalated 10 years...

But 20 odd grand in one go? Not something that common!

Probably some small/medium sized engineering company or something.

Good God!
We have sets like this at work, and one set serves a team of 10 maintenance engineers who work on plastic injection moulding machines!!!

I would rather like it though, I have no use for most of it but I could just sit and look at it :)
