OK, so......

i have a 2003 sv650 full faired. owned it since 3,000 miles. i currently have 29,000 on it now and the speedo has stoped working. i suspect it is the part that attaches itself to the front wheel. This is because sometimes the speedo sudden gives me a speed then shows zero again.

also has given me fault speeds, when i know i am doing 50 in a 50, it will often show 10mph or 188mph.

the counters for the milage put on the bike and tripsA and B do not increase as i travel when the speedo isnt working.

could someone please give advice how to solve the problem and link me to any threads that may help me solve the problem.

regards

kevin

Take front wheel off. If magnetic rotor has its tabs snapped, superglue them back on and go buy a new one from Suzuki for £20.

If rotor in good nick, buy a used speedo sensor (the black bit and wire connected under the fuel tank.) around £40.
