Have I just been chatted up??

I never look in the other area sections. I have found the thread but it's 11 pages long and I am lazy.

Where are you meeting and when?

Yer that's probably two hours to the start point but if you're not starting till 10 then it's do-able. If the weather is perfect and all the stars are in alignment I will think about it. Bit if the weather is miserable then the 2 hours there and the 2 hours back will be torture.

Will pop over the the EAR section on Saturday night and post if I can come.

It's a good two hours for me too. I'm coming from lowestoft right on the coast. I'm only going if it's dry too as my tyres aren't suitable for the wet weather and I'd end up going 3mph everywhere.

Maybe a trip with some vibrations could help? Physio only moves/twists the limbs don't they, whats the difference???:p

The bike has actually helped me with back problems before, but just minor aches and pains caused by tension and stress. In this case it's the bike that caused the problem, and it's a strain injury, so I think I would be silly to go out at repeat the same strain that caused the damage.

I will do a short journey this weekend, just to see how I get on, but if it's painful after 2 miles, I'll be turning round and heading home again. It's painful just sitting still at the moment. Doctor reckons I've damaged some tendons as 2 1/2 weeks after doing the damage, I've still got one side of my back raised with swelling.

I've got the GM in two weeks time, and in August I'll be doing 10 days riding and probably the region of 2500 miles to do, half of that off-road where I may end up hauling the bike out of a ditch, or pushing it out of a river, etc. I need to give my back the time it needs to heal, or risk spoiling my holidays.

OK it's nearly the weekend so we should start making plans. Who is coming? Which day is best Sat or Sun?

I am happy to go to Wales but don't really know any roads around there so someone else would have to plan the route and lead.

Saturday looking best day looking at weather, bit overcast here ATM :(

I have a route in my satnav, I don't mind leading a bit as long as people don't get held up by me.
The 'good' road, peeps could overtake me if they so wished and wait at the end prior to crossgates cafe.

Not bothered tbh, but I'll ride to my pace on the day regardless :)

L3nny
09-06-11, 11:13 AM

Oi!!!
I resemble that remark!

Sat. is the better day for me. As for a route, anything is good as long as it don't involve any off-road sections, i have heard some of the stories (Raving Davis in particular) where rideouts with Ralph & Spec.1 have included some interesting detours!!!!

He was exaggerating! We took him down a country lane that a farmer had left a bit of mud on. And maybe the surface was broken up with one or two pot holes for, oh, about 10 feet! ;)

OK, according to the route, looks like you are coming in round the bottom of Kiddy, as you come upto the Viaduct, there is a Homebase on your left, think its Old chester road south(?) will be waiting in the carpark there, just off the little roundabout before you go up & right at the Texaco/McD roundabout.
Timing should see you there for about 9.30 i guess, unless its Noah time, c u there :safe:

OK, having checked you aint leaving 'till 9.30/9.45 (pussy's) and your always late so I guess i'll have to hang around until about 10.00 then since it says 30mins from Hopwood to Kiddy, and your always slow as well!!!!

Ive just got back :)
Really enjoyed today, kept at decent pace even in the bit of rain we got, apart from the d1ckhead in the pug205 rally car thing that overtook me on a virtual blind corner at over a ton, it was brilliant :)

I was hoping he'd put it in a hedge, he was fecking dangerous.

Back, had a great ride didn't even mind the rain but that was probably because i was the only one clever enough to put my waterproofs on. Although not clever enough to zip up my leathers underneath them! Was wondering why it suddenly went really cold. Fastest i have ever seen you move was when chasing that pug Phil!! Some great roads done today will be heading back there soon i expect.

Chasing the pug? Other way round mate, he was trying to chase me.
I took him on the island then left him on the dual carriageway then backed off behind OG, I only done it to pi55 him off, he had his back wheel in the air on some corners, tw4t.

Anyway, they are excellent roads as promised that's why I go there a fair bit :)

Can't agree more, thats why your supposed to let 'em GO!
No point racing to an accident with a car, even if the driver is a Tw-hat, only one winner on that one.

Likewise, had a bonza trip, will have to do it again & take a picnic next time.
L3nny, you did put on your waterproofs, but you were also the only one to have parts of your bike coming off as we ride along LOL.

Yep, you're dead right mate, I got a bit of mist :smt084
Next time we could go into élan valley and stop and have some lunch / or picnic by the river :)

Lenny, meant to tell you, when you touched your right knee down on that island, did you lose a chunk of your slider ? Seen something fly off !!

Phil as noted earlier if you ever go down this way, I thought this route was quite entertaining:

Sounds like a plan, I usually finish early on a Friday, could be home by 3pm & leave by 3.30pm, could blat down as far as Taunton on the Friday set-up camp and be in the pub by opening time no probs leaving Sat totally free for being an arze, then back to the pub Sat night, ride back Sunday.

If you are feeling really 'special' take a look at the 3 YHA's along the top near Minehead, one in the middle I think from memory looks v.good and is in a village, so pubs in walking distance.
These have proven very useful when i have gone to places like Borth, Lakes etc. and it pi$$es down, as it occassionally will do in this wonderful country of ours.

Nope don't think it was, this looked like a chunk not sparks, could've been something off the road I guess.
