So it looks like I will be spending my wedding anniversary august bank holiday weekend on the wrong side of the hill.
I get the use of a little cottage in Askrigg for the asking. We have been a few times, but apart from a walk round Hawes or Aygarth falls, what the feck is there to do in the place. Bear in mind I will have to be in car with wife.
Ideas please, Lynne cannot walk too far

pub would be my best advice. If you fancy taking her out theres nice place to eat called overton house in reeth, sandpiper restaurant in richmond CB inn just outside of reeth. Or you could take her to the cinema in the station (theres also a place to get a bite their but its run of the mill stuff)

We have used the pub in the village that was the "Drovers" in All Creatures and Simonstone Hall that was excellent first time and unfortunately closed for a private function on the second time there.
So you rate a trip over to Reeth?

just good grub but nothing you cant get elsewhere. In richmond (i think) there used to be a place called man on the green or something or maybe on the green. but its basically a place where you turn up and you get what your given! was quality when i went a while ago though and they had wine there that the bloke must obviously collect that you would pay 50 quid for in a restaurant for 27 quid! winner!
basically just walk, eat and drink

For the inner child go to the Forbidden Corner, full of adults pretending to be taking the kids out for the day.
Have to order ticket in advance from Leyburn.
It may sound crap, but its an amazing place.
I love Reeth too :)

You would like it Chris.
I get the loan of the place off the local pufta. So of course it has to be a "cottage". This one though has a real puffs name. Cosy Cottage
