View Full Version : Triumph Spare Key Nonsense!

Was told by a key cutter in Solihull that you can't get spare Triumph keys from a key cutter, as they can't get the blank keys, and he looked up a book and gave me the address of a key cutter in Hinckley, who is supposedly the only shop that can do it and gets the keys supplied by Triumph.

I knew I'd seen the blanks on ebay, so I bought one thinking I'll then be able to get it cut anywhere.

So today I went to a Timpsons key cutter on the high street in Kettering today and he asked me why I'd bought a blank key with me, told him what I'd been told, he turned round and picked a blank Triumph key off the display, "I've got them right here mate".

I also read the same as the key cutter told me on a Triumph forum, so it seems to be a common misconception.

SO! Since there are a lot of Triumph owners on the forum, IT'S BOLOX. Just go to your local Timpsons.

A long time friend of mine is a key cutter, can pretty do anything. Bet he could do it for you too, and hes only a backstreet market fella.

The issue is not the key cutting, it's supposed to be that there are no key cutters that stock the blanks, but that's Bolox, Timpsons do.
